                          TROUBLESHOOTING MatchMe

ALL THE COLORS KEEP CHANGING AND ARE EXTREMELY WEIRD:
This happens because the BMP images supplied with MatchMe each use a
different 256 color palette. To fix this you can do one of the following:
  1. Change your number of desktop colors to at least 32K. (recommended)
  2. Substitute BMP's that all use the same palette.
  3. Substitute BMP's that use a 16 color palette.

FILE ERROR: CANNOT FIND AAPLAY.DLL
Verify the files AAPLAY.DLL and AAVGA.DLL are present in the
  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

FILE ERROR: Error loading animation file: <filename>
The animation load routine was unable to locate the animation or script
file, or there was an error in the script file. Use a text editor
(Notepad) to verify the file path and name in the matchme.ini file are OK.
If the file is a script, use the text editor to verify each line in the
script file contains a valid path and file name.

CORRUPTED DISPLAY or WON'T DISPLAY ANIMATIONS PROPERLY.
Try changing the Int 2f setting. You may also need to restart Windows.

SCREEN GOES BLANK AND/OR SYSTEM LOCKS UP WHEN MatchMe PLAYS ANIMATION
If you have already tried changing the Int 2f setting, your video
drivers may be incompatible with the animation player routines in
AAPLAY.DLL and AAVGA.DLL. The current drivers for ATI and Diamond Stealth
video cards appear to work fine with the AAPLAY routines. If all else
fails, you should still be able to view the animation with the freeware
  viewer AAPLAY\AAPLAY.EXE.

ANIMATION IS NOT PLAYING FULL SCREEN
Make sure that AAVGA.DLL is in the C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Sometimes
changing the Int 2f setting helps. If your desktop is using 256 colors,
try changing to a greater number of colors. Win95 users may need to
disable any desktop "Navigator" type programs and restart Windows to get
  full screen animation.

MIDI WARNING DIALOG APPEARS BUT NO CURSOR IS PRESENT
This annoying problem occurs when Windows detects a non-standard header
on the MIDI file being accessed by your script. Unfortunately, MatchMe
has hidden the cursor at this point, making it nearly impossible to
select the little checkbox that will disable the warning. Fear not, the
solution is at hand. Hold down the <Alt> key and press <F4>. A dotted
line will appear around the checkbox and its associated text. Now press
the spacebar. An "X" will appear in the little checkbox. Press enter
and the warning will be gone the next time you start MatchMe. Should
you wish to reenable the warning: Open the file c:\windows\system.ini in
any text editor (like Notepad). Find the section beginning with:
  [mciseq.drv]
  Find the entry: disablewarning=true
and change it to read: disablewarning=false
Save the file and exit. The warning will now reappear.
