My Reality Bar v2.2 Introduction

Welcome to MRB, software for capturing and viewing information in Microsoft Outlook.

Microsoft Outlook is great for managing your information, but entering and viewing information takes too long. MRB makes use of Outlook's features and integrates them into a convenient, innovative menu allowing you to quickly add and view information... these actions are also available from the tray icon.

Use MRB's "Information Item" to capture all kinds of information quickly, then decide where it needs to be saved or sent afterwards! MRB will even interpret what you have typed, using keywords, to instantly recommend the appropriate item... see the integrated help system for more information on how to use this great feature!

Just a click away... Quickly add and view: tasks, notes, appointments, contacts, e-mail messages, journal items, task requests, and meeting requests.

Also: create new office documents, create text documents, launch a program, open Outlook Today (with Outlook 98), open a web site, and open Outlook Advanced Find.

Now supports Pimlico Software's DateBk3 software for the Palm Pilot!

HISTORY:

07/01/1999 Version 2.2
New Features/Fixes for the Information Item:
- Added a Journal Type drop-down menu to the Information Item
- Added preference to remove keywords from the subject line of an Information Item...
Currently any keyword starting with a character and a "/" can be removed.
- Added MRB to the caption to differentiate from an Outlook item
- Preference added to change how the TAB key works in the Information Item's body.
TAB can insert a TAB, like Outlook, or move to the next field.
  SHIFT-TAB always goes back.
- Ctrl+D shows the calendar and/or jumps to the time if the calendar is already showing.
- Can press Enter in the time field to see the time decoded.
- File Attachments are created for E-Mail and Request Items,
File Shortcuts are created for Journal Items, Tasks, Appointments
- When entering a journal entry without a time, it now defaults to the current time,
  instead of 12:00AM
- When selecting Journal, the Start Time is set to the current time.
- Added a Timer icon to the Journal Item: If a Journal Item does not have an End Time set,
OPEN will start the timer in Outlook, SAVE will save the current time as the end time.
- Days automatically span based on time (10pm-1am covers two days), if this was typed and
then changed (10pm-11pm), the date would not change back to just one day.
- If a time is entered, and a keyword does not exist, and you have not selected an item
type (journal or task), then the type changes to an Appointment automatically.
- If multiple Information Items were open, under certain circumstances: keywords,
attachments, dates, and times could be disabled in the other Information Items.
Other Enchancements:
- Added more preferences
- Ordering the buttons for the Slick Bar, in preferences, turns off a duplicate item
- Right clicking a folder icon in the Slick Bar will show the folder in its own window,
  instead of a shared window.

06/14/1999 Version 2.11
- Notes correctly support categories
- Selecting a category in the Information Item overrides the category keywords
- If a category was detected in the subject, it would be cleared when
typing text in the body -- a category keyword can be detected in subject/body
- MRB saves default category keywords for users who have not configured
the category keywords - otherwise categories would not work
- Category window would incorrectly show after an Information Item was saved,
if the corresponding item type was selected to do so in Prefs for the Slick Bar

06/07/1999 Version 2.1
- The Information Item's window behaves more intelligently based on the
item type being created -- selecting "appointment" shows the calendar, etc.
- Now supports Pimlico Software's DateBk3 software for the Palm Pilot,
including support for icons and floating events
- Added preferences for categories and icons
- Enhanced preferences for keywords
- Information Item preferences added: turn off category support,
Enable/disable whether Reminders are on or off by default for appointments
- Added a "reminder" icon in the Information Item to turn on/off reminders
- In the Information Item's window, selecting an Item, manually clicking a
time or date, or selecting categories, will override the particular
keyword routine -- if you click a date, then type a date in the subject
line, the date you clicked will remain selected
- Fixed/optimized a couple of items

06/01/1999 Version 2.01
- Fixes CTRL-ALT-F Hotkey for Outlook Advanced Find
- Added time keywords: A.M. / P.M.

05/25/1999 Version 2.0
- Major upgrade featuring MRB's Information Item
- Added an integrated help system

04/28/1999 Version 1.2
- Fixed scaling problem on some systems

04/01/1999 Version 1.1
- Added MS Outlook Advanced Find...
- Folders can be browsed in a shared window

03/14/1999 Version 1.0
- Initial release
