What is NinjaSwitcher?

NinjaSwitcher is a utility to control multiple PCs (up to 3) by a pair of
a mouse and a keyboard. You may have seen hardware for the same purpose.
This software does the same function.

NinjaSwitcher is suitable for those who use more than 2 PCs and nevertheless:

1) do not have much room for keyboards and mouse pads
2) want to control a note-type computer by a desktop keyboard and a
   traditional mouse.

Features:
1) No special hardware necessary.
2) Easy to use (only mouse operations are necessary.)
3) Clear interface (an icon in the task tray indicates NinjaSwitcher is
   running.)
4) NT <-> 95/98 is possible as well as NT<->NT and 95/98<->95/98.
5) Only one mouse is necessary (this feature is valuable especially
when you use an expensive mouse such as a wheel mouse.)
6) Screensaver on a PC is automatically gone when you switch to the PC.

Requirements:
1) A Microsoft operating system (Windows95, Windows98 or WindowsNT 4.0)
is installed on each PC that you wish to control through NinjaSwitcher.
2) PCs are connected via LAN based on TCP/IP. How to configure TCP/IP

NinjaSwitcher is a shareware ($18). If you wish to continue to use
NinjaSwitcher, please send us $18.

Two weeks after you begin to use NinjaSwitcher, a dialogue window asking
you to send us money will show up every time it is invoked. The program
will terminate 3 weeks after you begin to use NinjaSwitcher.

How to install NinjaSwitcher

1) Configure TCP/IP.
To use NinjaSwitcher, TCP/IP must be enabled on each computer. In
order to know whether TCP/IP is in operation on your computer, go
to the "Start" menu and type "winipcfg" in the [Run*] entry. If an
IP number such as 133.158.0.4 shows up, the chances are that TCP/IP
is probably working. If you are not sure whether TCP/IP is working,
then please read How to configure TCP/IP in this manual (Note TCP/IP
is not installed just after a windows operating system is installed.)

2) Check whether "MFC40.DLL" is present in your computer. If it is
not present, visit the following URL:

  http://www.alpha-net.ne.jp/users2/tetsuyat/teamquickware/index.htm

3) Extract NinjaSwitcher files by WinZip and copy them to each PC
   uninstall and reinstall.

4) Start NinjaSwither on each PC How to start NinjaSwitcher.

5) Configure NinjaSwitcher How to configure NinjaSwitcher.

Your configuration on NinjaSwitcher is saved in a "ini" file, not
in registries.

If you place a shortcut at "Startup"

  c:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

then NinjaSwitcher automatically appears each time you start Windows.

Start NinjaSwitcher on each PC. A red door icon in the task tray
(the bottom right) indicates NinjaSwitcher is running. Suppose you
have two computers (A and B) and you are going to use the mouse and
the keyboard attached to A in order to control B as well as A. Let
us call A the local computer, B the remote computer.

Switching from the local PC (A) to the remote PC (B):

* By the mouse of the local PC.
Drag your mouse pointer to the right (or left) edge on the screen.
Then click the left button.

* By the keyboard of the local PC.
To use this method, you need to select the check button
[Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right enable] in [Option] of NinjaSwitcher
installed on the local PC.

Just after switching, a dialogue box shows up on the display of
the local PC and the mouse pointer disappears from the screen of
the local PC. Now you have a control over the remote PC by the
keyboard and the mouse of the local PC. (How switching occurs is
configured in [Configure NinjaSwitcher].

* If the mouse pointer is bounced back, then try again.
* During controlling B through the local keyboard and the local
mouse, all the key operations are the same as if B is a local
PC except for a few. Keyboard operations disabled.
* The keyboard and the mouse of the remote PC are still functional
even after the keyboard and the mouse of the local PC gain a
  control over the remote PC.

Switching from the remote PC (B) to the local PC (A):

* By the mouse of the local PC.
When you want to return from B to A, drag the mouse pointer to
the edge and click the left button. Then, the mouse pointer will
disappear and you now gain a control over the local PC.

* By the keyboard of the local PC.
There are many ways back.
