Installation
------------
Simply put hynm.exe in any folder (for example in "Program Files/hynm").
Next add link to hynm.exe in your in "Program Files" menu to execute hynm by
hand. If hynm is running when you shut down your system it will be executed
automaticaly on startup.

Getting starting
----------------
After execution the program places a program icon in system tray and
checks for new messages in mailboxes of the users, mentioned in the
configuration. If you click on the icon by the right mouse button, a
configuration menu appears, with the help of which you can configure the
program. The icon begins to blink, when new messages arrive to the mailboxes
on the mailserver. You can browse the headers of new messages, by choosing
the corresponding menu item or by clicking on the program icon by the left
mouse button.

Accounts
--------
You can control an unlimited number of mailboxes. To get "Accounts" dialog
choose "Accounts..." menu item.
Press "Add" button to add information about new mailbox and press "Delete"
button to delete inputed information. You can edit the name of the existing
mailbox by pressing the "Edit" button or by clicking on its header name in
the list by the left mouse button. the information about new mailbox should
contain: address of the mail server, user name, password, protocol, check
interval, method for informing about new incoming messages and something
else.

Protocols
---------
  * finger is one of the standard services in UNIX-like systems. By means of
this service you can get information about user/users, registered in the
system. This information usually includes a nickname and a full name of a
user, his home directory, command shell, date of last login, date of last
reading of mail messages and so on. The indicated information is usually
limited by a system administrator (even finger service can be restricted on
your mail server). If you are lucky, and information about new mail is
avaliable with finger request, then you can bravely use this protocol in the
program hymn. Advantage is that you won't enter the password for you mail
box in the dialog with the mail server (especially for those, who are afraid
of trusting your passwords to a great number of programs). Disadvantage is
that you can't know about the number of new mail messages, arrived to your
mail server, and you can't see their headers.

  * pop3 is one of the most well-known protocols for exchanging messages with
the mail server. It is very likely, that you'll use this protocol for
mail operations
  * imap4 - another protocol, different from pop3, all the messages are kept
directly on the mailserver. There you can also create additional
directories, save, move, delete mail messages, using these additional
directories. It will suit those people, who has no ability to read mail
messages, always using the same remote computer. If your mail-server
supports this protocol, you may choose it as default.

While working with pop3 and imap4 protocols, you can also browse headers
of incoming messages.

Support of national alphabets
-----------------------------
When you receive messages, containing symbols of national alphabets, the
program hymn will automatically decode them so, that they will be displayed
correctly on the monitor, is the message is written in accordance with MIME
format. Default setting is the encoding type, mentioned in the global
program setup(dialog "Common..."), so that when the program can't recognize
the encoding type, this default setting will be used instead. A standard
encoding in Russian Internet is koi8-r.

Report about new mail arrival
-----------------------------
When new messages arrive, the program icon begins to blink. You can also
be informed about new incoming messages by :

  * playing audio files of .WAV format
  * playing video files of .AVI format
  * another mail client program executing
  * showing a dialog with headers of new messages

The first three methods demand mentioning of file names (*.wav, *.avi, and
*.exe respectively), but you can choose only one additional method for
reporting about new messages.

Errors
------
In case of errors the color of a program icon becomes red. You can browse
error description by choosing "Errors" menu item. The errors usually occur
in case of incorrect address for a mail server, incorrect user name or
password.

Additional features
-------------------
Usually, when you click on the program icon by the left mouse button, an
interactive dialog appears, which shows you new arrived messages. But also,
in the global program setup you can mention the name of the program, which
will be executed automaticaly when you click on the program icon by the left
mouse button or through program menu.
