USING AS A MULTI-CLIPBOARD

With 101 Clippings running, you can copy to the clipboard
in the normal way up to nine times. To paste your clips, press
Ctrl+1 for the first clip, Ctrl+2 for the second Etc. instead
of Ctrl+V, Shift+Ins or selecting paste from your application's Edit menu.

Please note that while pasting with 101's hot keys, the normal
type ahead keyboard buffer is not available. To paste the first
two clips - hold down the Ctrl key and press 1. Release both keys
and wait for the clip to paste before holding down the Ctrl key
again and pressing 2.

There are two modes for clearing the multiple clipboard. The default
system is that all clips are cleared to make way for the first clip
you make after paste operations. In other words, if you copy three
times, you can paste the three clips as often as you wish but as soon
as you copy again, the first three clips are lost and the new clip
becomes the first clip on Ctrl+1. Normally, this is the most useful
mode as you know that each series of clips will start on Ctrl+1.
If you need to copy a clip, paste it, copy another and still have
the ability to paste them both, you can change to the second mode in
User Options. In the second mode, clips are not discarded. They
continue to be added to the clipboard until there are nine. After
that, new clips are added at Ctrl+9 and the others scroll down the
clipboard with the oldest being discarded. In other words, the
clipboard always holds the last nine clips.

In either mode you can force the clipboard to clear by pressing
Ctrl+0 (Zero).

Choosing clips visually

If you are unsure which hot key a particular clip is on, you can
activate the 101 window and choose the one you want. You activate
101 by typing Ctrl+V or Shift+Ins. You can also activate it with
the mouse by clicking on the desktop with the mousepointer held
hard against the edge of the screen ( Top, bottom or sides).

The clips on the clipboard are shown on the top left of the 101
window. If the clips are text, the first few words are shown.
If not, 101 displays "Non text clip". You can paste a clip by
clicking on it, by typing the number shown against it or by moving
the highlight bar to it and pressing the Enter key.

USING AS A CLIPPINGS LIBRARY

In addition to the clipboard, the 101 window has two sections for
the storage of permanent clips. To save a permanent copy of any
clip on the clipboard, drag it to either the Hot Key or Library sections.

You can rearrange the position of clips by dragging them to new
locations. Use the left mouse button to move a clip and the right
mouse button to copy it. Library and hot key clips are deleted by
dragging them back to the clipboard area.

Clips in the Hot Key section can be connected to the hot keys
Alt + the slot letter by checking the box to the right of the clip.
Your software application probably uses combinations of Alt + letters
to pull down menus. If you connect a clip to a hot key then the clip
takes priority over any menu selection which uses the same combination.
In other words, if you connect a clip to Alt + E then you cannot use
Alt + E to pull down the Edit menu of your word processor.

Clips in the library section can only be pasted by activating the 101
window and clicking on them. You can, however, save up to 180 clips
in groups of 12 and give each group a meaningful name.

The text shown in the clipping slots is not the clip itself but the
clip title. For text clips, 101 uses the first few words of the clip
as its title. For all non text clips, 101 uses the default title
"Non text clip". In either case, you can give clips a more meaningful
title. To rename a clip, right click on the clip title.
