WAVE REPAIR: INSTALLATION AND REGISTRATION

  This file contains information under the following headings:

  * System Requirements
  * Installation
  * Upgrading from an Earlier Version
  * De-installation
  * Registration
  * Support
  * Copyright

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  * PC running Windows 3.x, 95, 98 or NT.
  * Soundcard capable of 44.1/48kHz 16bit stereo playback.
  * Reasonably fast hard disk (eg. EIDE or SCSI) recommended.
  * 486 or better CPU recommended. However, note that the real-time
    declicking function is CPU hungry, and the minimum CPU requirement
    to operate this function reliably is a 133MHz Pentium.

INSTALLATION

  1. Create a directory (folder) where you want to install Wave Repair.

  2. Unzip the WVxx_xx.ZIP file into that directory; this will
     create 4 files. Three of these will be:

        WAVREP.HLP    Wave Repair's help file
        HISTORY.TXT A summary of changes in versions of Wave Repair
        README.TXT    This file

     Depending on whether you have downloaded the 16 or 32 bit version
     of Wave Repair, the fourth file will be called WAVREP.EXE (16 bit
     version) or WAVREP32.EXE (32 bit version).

  3. To run Wave Repair, simply execute WAVREP.EXE or WAVREP32.EXE
     as appropriate.

  Note that Wave Repair does not install files anywhere else on your
  system, nor does it make changes to any system configuration files.

UPGRADING FROM AN EARLIER VERSION

  Some users have been a little confused about what to do to upgrade an
  earlier release of Wave Repair.

  There is no separate upgrade procedure; to install a later version
  simply unzip the new WVxx_xx.ZIP file as described in INSTALLATION
  above. If you unzip into the same directory where Wave Repair was
  previously installed, that previous version will be overwritten and
  your registration, options and macro definitions will be inherited
  by the new version.

  If you wish to evaluate the new version first, it is better to install
  it into a new directory (so that the old version is not overwritten).
  If you do this, then you can avoid having to re-apply the registration
  key and recreating your options and macro definitions by copying the
  two files WAVREP.KEY and WAVREP.DAT from the directory containing the
  existing installation to the new directory.

DE-INSTALLATION

  If you wish to de-install Wave Repair, simply delete the files that
  were created during installation. (Note: Wave Repair does NOT create
  any entries in the Win95/NT registry). Depending on the features you
  have used, two more files may have been created in the same directory,
  called WAVREP.DAT and WAVREP.KEY; these files should also be deleted.

REGISTRATION

  The evaluation version is fully functional with the exception that
  it will not save updates back to disk. Registration enables save
  functionality.

  The registration fee is $30 US. When you register, you will be
  sent a registration key (which will continue to work for any future
  versions you download).

  The most convenient way to register Wave Repair is via a secure
  credit card transaction on the Internet at:
