Troubleshooting

Having problems? Please look here before contacting PC Dynamics. Did you know you can get answers by email by writing to support@pcdynamics.com?

Problem: After installing the SafeHouse device driver, DOS drive letters are not correct.
The device driver setup wizard cannot always guarantee the outcome of your SafeHouse DOS drive letter assignments. If you did not end up with the drive letter(s) you specified, you can sometimes correct the problem simply by running the driver setup wizard again. Otherwise, you may need to choose a different set of drive letters. For more information on drive lettering issues, see Drive Lettering.
Problem: Your ActivCard is lost or stolen.
Your SafeHouse encrypted volumes are usually associated with an ActivCard. If this card is ever lost or stolen, you will not be able to access your data. You will need to purchase a new ActivCard and have PC Dynamics preprogram it with the same service key(s) used by your original card. You'll find these keys printed on the back of the small booklet that came packaged with the lost ActivCard. PC Dynamics currently charges $25 for custom service key programming.
