Guide to Using SafeHouse

SD.EXE

Icon: None

The SD.EXE DOS utility is provided to perform tasks using SafeHouse encrypted volumes from the DOS prompt or from within DOS batch files, including your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The main modes of operation include volume mapping, unmapping and password changes.

A second use of this program is to specify a specific DOS drive letter to be reserved for encrypted volumes. In this mode, the SD.EXE program is run from the CONFIG.SYS file using the /Firstletter option.

This is a 16-bit DOS utility program and is generally not recommended for use under Windows 95 or NT. Certain features, such as mapping and unmapping volumes, require the 16-bit SafeHouse device driver. Other features, such as creating volumes and changing passwords, can be accomplished using this utility, however, we recommend using the corresponding Windows wizards instead whenever possible.
