Guide to Using SafeHouse

SDWDEV.EXE

Icon: Install SafeHouse Driver

The SDWDEV.EXE Windows utility is used to automatically set up the 16-bit SAFEDISK.SYS device driver required for working with SafeHouse encrypted volumes under DOS and Windows 3.X. You should not use this utility if you are running Windows 95 or NT since the SafeHouse setup program will automatically handle all 32-bit driver configuration issues. If for some reason you find it necessary or desirable to use the 16-bit driver under Windows 95 instead of the usual 32-bit driver, this driver installation wizard can be used; however, the 16-bit driver will not be able to access encrypted volumes residing on network servers.

This utility will read and evaluate your CONFIG.SYS file, prompt for setup preferences, and add statements for SafeHouse reflecting your preferences to your CONFIG.SYS file.
