MCSE Networking Essentials For Dummies Flash Cards

Here are the instructions on how to install the software that's on this
CD to your handheld computing device.

Installing the Flash Cards to your PalmPilot using Microsoft Windows 95
or later (the different versions of Palm OS all have similar install
features. Check your Palm OS manual if you have any problems):

1.	Click the START button on your toolbar (located most likely at
	the bottom of your screen).

2.	Move the mouse cursor to PROGRAMS. A submenu pops up.

3.	On that submenu, you should have a folder for your PalmPilot
Desktop Software, called something like PalmPilot Desktop 2.0.
Move the cursor to that folder.

4.	Among the options in the submenu that appears, you should see
the PalmPilot Install Tool. Click on that icon.

5.	Your PalmPilot Install Tool will open. Click the BROWSE button
	next to File Name.

6.	Locate the CD in the LOOK IN Bar and choose the PALM directory.
All seven files in this directory have to be installed for
	the installation to be successful.

7.	Click on the first file and select OPEN. You return to the
PalmPilot Install Tool screen. Click INSTALL.

8.	You get a message window telling you that the file is ready
to install and will be installed the next time you HotSync your
PalmPilot. Click on "Install Another File" and repeat the process
until all seven files are installed.

If you have a Palm Pilot III, you can simply select all the files
at once, click Open, then click Done.

9.	Click on EXIT instead of "Install Another File" when you are done
with the seventh file. This action closes the Install Tool.

10.	Click the HOTSYNC button on your PalmPilot cradle. Make sure the
PalmPilot is in the cradle at this time. After the HotSync
is complete, you are ready to get started with Flash Cards.

Installing the Flash Cards to your Windows CE machine using Windows
95 or later:

1.	Make sure your Windows CE machine is connected to your PC.

2.	Open the folder called CE located on this CD-ROM. A list of files
	appears.

3.	Double-Click on the MCSE_NE.EXE file and follow the prompts on the
screen to install the Flash Cards (just hit O.K. when asked if you
want to install to the default directory).

4.	After Setup is complete, you are ready to run your Flash Cards.
You may want to delete the setup files which were extracted to your
hard drive in the installation process.

Maneuvering around the Flash Cards:

We have done our best to make this program intuitive and easy to use.
But if you're not sure where to get started, see the section below
for some hints.

When you start the Flash Cards program, you see a screen that gives
you the option of either going through all questions or choosing an
objective.

Make sure you choose an objective before clicking on the Show Question
in an Objective button. You select an objective by clicking on the down
arrow next to the Select an Objective option.

After you proceed to the first question, you see the actual question
on the first screen, and when you click on "Show responses" you get a
multiple choice collection of answers. Choose the best answer gives
you the hint that there is only one answer that's right.

If you aren't sure about the question after you make your selection,
you can go back to the question by clicking on Show Question. Your
selections are "remembered" by the program until you return to the
selections. Once you leave the exercise by either finishing or
returning to the main screen, the selections are reset to be ready
for your next round.

After you have made your selection, click on the Enter button and find
out how you did. When you click on OK, you receive feedback, including
the correct answer, why it is correct, etc.

You can then go on to the next question or return to the main
screen.

Note for CE users:

If the Question text appears truncated, you can scroll down to
see all of the text by simply dragging your stylus over the text
toward the bottom of the text box.
