The program on this disk is SHAREWARE. You may make a copy of this
program for evaluation purposes only. If you decide to use this
program, you MUST register it. See the file CHKFILES.TXT for
instructions on use and registration.

The program CHKFILES.EXE is a completely self-contained program. You
can run it from the floppy disk or copy it to your hard drive and run
it from there. There is no special installation procedure. If you
wish to install it so that it will have an icon on the start menu, do
the following:

1) From explorer, create a subdirectory on your hard drive or select
an existing subdirectory to use. CHKFILES.EXE will work fine from
wherever you put it. You could create a subdirectory called CHKFILES,
or simply put it in your WINDOWS directory.

2) Copy the CHKFILES.EXE program from your floppy disk to the hard
drive.

3) Drag the CHKFILES.EXE icon to the start menu. This will create a
link on the start menu. You may want to move this icon to a different
place in the start menu. To do this, right click on the start menu
and select "Open". This will bring up an explorer-type window where
you can drag the link to a different position. In Windows 98 you can
simply drag the link directly to where you want it in the start menu.

Be sure to read the CHKFILES.TXT file for important information on how
to use and register CHKFILES.

To uninstall CHKFILES, simply delete the CHKFILES.EXE program from
your hard drive and the CHKFILES.PTH file that it can create in the
same directory if you saved your paths. To remove all of the
CHKFILES.CHK files, do a search for "CHKFILES.CHK" in all
subdirectories of each partition you are using (such as "C:"), and
then select all the files in the search result box and delete them.
