Description
-----------
Event Organizer is a Windows 95/98 program to help you organize your daily
events. Using it, you can be reminded of special dates (such as birthdays
or anniversaries), maintain a list of to-dos, and/or keep track of
appointments.

Although there are many calendar and organizer programs available, Event
Organizer offers features not found in other programs. It differs from many
calendar programs in that it does not account for every minute of every
day- it simply shows what is important to you. Events are displayed in a
concise table format- listing either all or just the events that are due.

Additionally, by disabling time, its appearance is simplified even more-
it is suitable to track events for which time is irrelevant.

Some events are important, and you may want to be reminded weeks in
advance. Others may be a daily event Monday through Friday, requiring no
advance warning. You control the "days in advance" that you want to be
reminded of an event, thereby limiting what is displayed to that which is
important to you.

Numerous options are available to:

o	display all or just due events
o search event descriptions for specific text or word
o	control the frequency of repeating events
o	control the number of days in advance that you are to be reminded
	of a event
o	control whether events are expired automatically or manually
o	provide logging of expired events
o	enable/disable time (if disabled, events will not have an associated
	start or stop time
o	and more....

Event Organizer provides point and click control to add, change, clone,
delete and expire events. On-line help is available to assist you when
help is needed.

Event Organizer also provides the capability to preview and print reports
in list and at-a-glance (day, week and month) formats.

Special Hardware Requirements
-----------------------------
A functioning sound board is required if alarms are expected (the "Enable
Time" option is active and a "Start Time" has been specified).

-------------------------
Installation: New Install
-------------------------

If the program is to be installed from diskettes, run the SETUP program
on the first diskette to install the program on your system. If the
program is to be installed from a single large file (i.e. Setup.exe
downloaded from the web), execute the file itself.

-----------------------
Installation: Upgrading
-----------------------
If you currently have a previous version of Event Organizer installed, you
should:

1) BACKUP YOUR EVENT SET FILES (files with BKd, EOd, EOo and Log extensions).
This is just a precautionary step- your event set files should remain
undisturbed in the subdirectory where they reside.
2) Uninstall the previous version of Event Organizer by using the Add/Remove
   Programs facility.
3) If the newer version program is to be installed from diskettes, run the
SETUP program on the first diskette to install the program on your system.
If the program is to be installed from a single large file (i.e. Setup.exe
downloaded from the web), execute the file itself.

------------------------
Running Event Organizer:
------------------------
Run the program by clicking on its icon in the Start|Programs menu.

If Event Organizer is invoked from a command line, the name of an event set
may be specified as a program argument as shown below. This example could
start the Organizer and automatically open the event set 'Birthdays'.

	c:\eventorganizer\eo.exe c:\mydata\eo\Birthdays.EOd

The above technique can be used in shortcuts to both start Event Organizer
and to have it open the named event set when the shortcut's icon is double
clicked.

----------
Uninstall:
----------
Use the Add/Remove Programs facility to uninstall the program.

-----------
Quick Start
-----------
For those who are anxious to begin using Event Organizer, information on
how add an event and save the event set file is available by clicking
"Help" and then "Quick Start" on the Organizer's main window menu.

-----------------
Example Event Set
-----------------
An example event set with accompanying documentation is provided. See the
file named 'Example.txt' for more information.
