WELCOME TO DAVIDRM SOFTWARE'S THE JOURNAL!
- The Journal is Personal Journal Software specifically designed to help
you organize your thoughts and ideas, whether for business or personal use.

- The Journal always knows what day it is. Entries are automatically tracked
by date, and reviewing past entries is as simple as a click of the mouse.

- The Journal allows you to create multiple entry categories such as "Daily
Journal", "Poems", "Project Notes", and more--completely user defineable!

- The Journal is very flexible, allowing many options in creating the
perfect Personal Journal for you, while maintaining an unrivaled
  ease-of-use!

- The Journal has powerful word processing capabilities (paragraph
formatting, font selection, printing--even a spellchecker and a thesaurus)
  and full OLE container support.

- The Journal is secure. Not only can you use a password, all entries are
  encrypted before being saved.

INSTALLING THE JOURNAL:
Decompress (all of) the archive(s) into a temp directory and execute Setup
   from Windows 95 Explorer.

INSTALLING OVER VERSIONS v1.39 and later:
NOTE: Do NOT uninstall the previous version!!!
You may want to backup your The Journal\Data folder before installing
   The Journal 2.0.
Simply decompress the archive into a temp directory and execute Setup
from Windows 95 Explorer. The setup program will correctly place the
   upgraded components.

INSTALLING OVER VERSIONS v1.38 and earlier:
NOTE: Do NOT uninstall the previous version!!!
The automatic entry database upgrade process included with The Journal 2.0
is only certified to work with The Journal 1.39 or later. If you are using
a release of The Journal prior to 1.39, I recommend that you download and
install The Journal 1.51 before installing The Journal 2.0. This will
ensure the correct conversion of your entry database. Email DavidRM
Software at davidrm@busprod.com and for the location where you can
download The Journal 1.51 Full Package.

SETTING UP THE SPELL CHECKER AND THESAURUS
The Spell Checker and Thesaurus dictionaries are located in the Data
folder. Assuming the default installation path, this would be:
   C:\Program Files\DavidRM Software\The Journal\Data
