Preface
-------

Thank you for trying this new version for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98.

This version contains many innovations. The program was entirely rewritten
in order to adapt to the new "Gauge" format proposed by the Microsoft's
Gauge SDK. Following many recommendations from our users, we have
re-established the simple and compact interface from the first version and
succeeded in including all the functions from the second version. Another
important point to this version is the compatibility with the full screen
3D mode of Flight Simulator 98.

In the previous version, the GPS used the TAS (True Air Speed) to calculate
the time variable to get to destination. Since TAS represents the speed of
the aircraft through the air mass that surrounds it, and that the air mass
itself is moving, TAS does not permit to correctly calculate the estimated
time to destination. In this new version, GPS calculates the ground speed (GS).
This is the speed at which the aircraft really flies with reference to the
ground and it is entirely calculated by the GPS.

The GPS's database contains 6761 Navaids, 3791 airports and more than 5869
landing runways with their respective ILS frequency.

Don't forget to visit often the official GPS Web site to obtain the latest
information. The Web site contains many sections such as Support,
Tips and tricks, frequently asked questions, etc.
