Autorun Action Menu Readme File
+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++
This program is freely distributable to anyone wishing to use it for
non-commercial applications. Any User Names and Registration Codes
must not be distributed

For rights to distribute this program on CDs (for distribution for
non-commercial applications, or for use as a functioning program),
please contact Sean Flanagan (calypso@powerup.com.au).

The program is a good general all round Autorun program for anyone
wishing to write their own CDs, or for that matter, anything that
can use Autorun (such as Removable Media Drives).

The program, when started, cleverly slides in at the upper right of
the screen, pausing briefly to do an initial load of all images. The
program will remain above other windows until exited. When exited,
either normally or when set to after clicking a button, the program
slides off screen again.

The program attractively displays title maps, which are sourced from
easily editable bitmap files. It can load a background image, if the
user finds it appropriate. The colour of the Button Text and program
Background are also fully settable. The INI file specifies all the
user settings, and instructions for its use can be found later in
this file.

The program now enters a "Demo" mode when left undisturbed for around
20 seconds. The Demo cycles between three states.

Part 1: The program randomly selects buttons, turning the end-caps
	green (not red as when selected normally) and displays their
	title maps.

Part 2: The program flashes the Title Map a number of times.

Part 3: The "Explore CD" Map is flashed a few times.

I normally include with the program all files the program refers to.
This gaurantees that the program will run on various versions of
Windows (95 and above).

PLEASE NOTE: the program is a 32-bit application, and
as such will not run on anything previous to Win95.
This program was written by Sean C Flanagan,
and is copyrighted, 1998, by him.

BE AWARE THAT YOU MUST HAVE THE Autorun.inf FILE IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY
FOR THIS PROGRAM TO WORK. The supplied file assumes you have placed the
program in a directory called "automenu", please modify the file if this
is not the case.

Clicking the small flashing button will open windows explorer to
browse the CD. To allow the program to be compatible with unforseen
future versions of windows the location and name of Explorer.exe is
defined in the INI File.

This program, makes no modifications to your system. It does not add
files, it does not make registry entries. To completely remove the
program, simply delete the directory which you unzipped it into.

This program will work off your C: Drive, or any other drive for that
matter. But you must copy all the files over and write a new INI file.

If you wish a modified copy for commercial application, or have
any suggestions for improvements to the program then contact me.

Step-by-Step Instructions
+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++

Unzip all files into its own directory. The program is ready to
run. The program does NOT require any installation. To set up for
your CD just follow the following steps:

- Create an "Automenu" directory (see NOTE)

- Unzip the files into this directory

- Optionally unzip SysFiles.ZIP into the same directory
  This makes sure your program will work on all systems

- Edit the automenu.ini file to reflect your setup.
  See below for the INI file format.

- Create your own set of images (and check that you changed all
  of them you want to) and copy them to the automenu directory

- write your CD, making sure you moved the autorun.inf to the
  root directory of the CD.

NOTE that the supplied autorun.inf assumes you copied the program
into a directory call automenu, and that you will use the programs
icon to represent your CD. Open the autorun.inf file to change these
details

The link can be to a file, program, directory or internet site as
follows:

File: ========================================================
"\directory\file.doc", or "C:\windows\readme.txt"

Program: =====================================================
"\directory\program.exe", or "C:\windows\Notepad.exe"

Directory: ===================================================
"\directory\directory\", or "C:\windows\", even "C:\windows"

Internet Site: ===============================================
"http://www.powerup.com.au/~calypso/register.htm"

+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++---------+++

Do not include the inverted commas (") when entering links.

The absence of the drive (eg C:) means that the link is to the CD.

Slash directions above should be followed. The world MAY come
to a stop if you do not...

Trailing slashes on directory links do not matter.

All images must be in Bitmap form, named appropriately and
placed in the same directory as automenu.exe. They must be the
original size.

Future Improvements:

1 Devise way to cope with uses that may require more or fewer
  than the 5 buttons on the program.

2 The fantastic idea you are about to email to me!
