      USERS

When upgrading ComManager Version 2.1 to ComManager Version
2.23, it is necessary to manually modify all dial strings
that contain the ComManager Version 2.1 delay character
"d", and replace it with the ComManager Version 2.23 delay

CHANGES FROM RELEASE 2.2 TO 2.23

      1. A new DDE request, PHONE_STATUS_CONNECTED_LINE, has been
added. This request returns the line number of the
currently active call. Lines are numbered as for the
existing PHONE_STATUS_NUM_LINES request. For the purposes
of this request, a call is "active" if it is any state
other than Offering, OnHold, Disconnected, or Idle.
This request returns an empty string when there is no
         active call.

      2. Existing DDE requests more accurately reflect the
current state of the active call.

      KNOWN PROBLEMS

      1. PROBLEM: A user's phone can get into a mode where
all phone buttons and dialpad keys are non-functional.

e.g. a user goes offhook and hears dialtone,
but the dialpad keys do not work to dial.
                  repdial keys are also non-functional.

The phone can get into this mode in two ways:

             - The user presses a ComManager "CALLBACK" key
               to initiate a callback request.
             - The user presses a ComManager "MAILBOX" key
               to initiate a callback message.

SOLUTION: The user can "unlock" their phone in one
         of two ways:

             - If the user has a ComManager "PROGRAM" key,
then they can press the ComManager PROGRAM
key twice. This should unlock the phone.
             - The simplest solution is to reset the phone
               by unplugging it.

      2. PROBLEM: On Windows95, the following situation will
result in a General Protection Fault or will cause
the Telephony Control Panel to stop functioning.
ComManager is up and running. The Telephony Control
Panel is started and the Add or Setup button has been
pressed in order to add a service provider or setup
an already installed service provider. While the
service provider configuration windows are displayed,
ComManager is closed. At this point, the configuration
dialogs no longer respond to user action or a GPF
occurs. This problem is the result of a known TAPI
         bug.

SOLUTION: The user should avoid this situation. If
the problem does occur, the user should exit and then
         restart Windows.
