PLATFORMS AND OPERATING SYSTEM VERSIONS SUPPORTED
=================================================

This version of Executive Software Network Undelete is supported
on Intel x86 platforms (or their equivalent) running Windows NT
4.0 builds 1381 and higher. Service Pack 3 for Windows NT 4.0
is recommended due to known DCOM fixes in Service Pack 3.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
================

1. Executive Software Network Undelete is available in two
    versions - The Administrator version and the Client version.
    With the Client version you can recover and undelete files
    on a local Workstation or Server. With the Administrator
    version you can recover and undelete files and directory
    folders on your local machine as well as on remote
    computers on your network.

KNOWN RESTRICTIONS/LIMITATIONS IN THIS RELEASE
==============================================

1. When you Undelete a file, you must first specify the filename
    and directory path before finding the deleted files. Wildcard
    statements (such as * and ?) are supported for specifying the
    filename.

2. The Recovery Bin Exclusion List does not allow you to exclude
    entire partitions from being processed. Instead, use the
    Recovery Bin Properties dialog to disable the Recovery Bin on
    individual partitions.

3. If a partition is re-formatted, removed, or has its drive
    letter changed, the Recovery Bin will be disabled for that
    partition. You must reset the Recovery Bin properties to
    re-enable the Recovery Bin on that partition.

4. When the Recovery Bin is enabled for a partition, the
    \RecoveryBin folder cannot be deleted. The Recovery Bin must
    first be disabled before this folder can be deleted.

5. On NTFS partitions, only Small and Large file types are
    eligible for being undeleted directly from the disk. However,
    all file types can be recovered from the Recovery Bin.

6. Compressed files on NTFS partitions cannot be undeleted
    directly from the disk. Compressed files can, however, be
    recovered from the Recovery Bin.

7. The default name for a common recovery bin (one bin location
    for a given system) is "<system drive>:\CommonBin". This
    location can be configured from the Properties dialog box.
    This can be set to any valid directory name as long as it
    does not conflict with the local recovery bin name on that
    drive ("<Drive>:\RecoveryBin").

THIRD PARTY INCOMPATIBILITY LIST
================================

Executive Software Network Undelete is incompatible with the
following third party software applications:

1. Norton Protect. Executive Software Network Undelete and
    Norton Protect perform similar activities that are not
    compatible.

2. QuarterDeck Cleansweep. Incompatibility between components
    of Executive Software Network Undelete and Cleansweep has been
    noted. However, it has been observed that when Executive
    Software Network Undelete is installed first, Cleansweep can
    then be installed and both products run correctly. If
    Cleansweep is installed first, Executive Software Network
    Undelete will not start correctly. Therefore, if you have
    installed Cleansweep prior to installing Executive Software
    Network Undelete, we recommend that you uninstall Cleansweep
    before installing Executive Software Network Undelete.

    On installation of Executive Software Network Undelete, a
    check for the QuarterDeck Cleansweep software is made, and if
    found, you are warned that Executive Software Network Undelete
    is not compatible with it.

3. Dr. Soloman's Anti Virus. On installation of Executive
    Software Network Undelete, a check for Dr. Solomans Anti
    Virus software is made, and if found, you are warned that
    Executive Software Network Undelete is incompatible with it.
    We do not recommend running the two products on the same
    system at this time.

4. One site reported that a product named Virtual Address does
    not function when Executive Software Network Undelete is
    installed. This has not been independently confirmed.

5. One site reported that while using Digital's Distributed
    Computing Environment (DCE), a system hang occurred when
    a user-written DCE process ran concurrently with Executive
    Software Network Undelete. We do not recommend running the
    two products on the same system at this time.
