Registration Information
------------------------
Updated July 11, 1998

Everest is shareware. You can and encouraged to make copies of the program without limit.
It is suggested that you do not post Everest on your web site, because of the rapid version
changes (but you are free to do so if you wish). You should instead post a link to
http://home.att.net/~lakata/everest.html.

Registration unlocks all of the features of Everest through special password "Key". You
may not distribute your registration key, although in principle it wouldn't matter if you did
because there is a one in two billion chance it will work for anyone else.

What you Get when you Register

The Registration Key Details
----------------------------

The registration key is a unique key that will be sent to you via email after you
pay the registration fee. It is based on the registration code that Everest generates
uniquely. The code MUST BE taken from the machine that you intend to run Everest on.
If you intend to run Everest on two machines, contact us to get another free
key (at our discretion) after you register one of the machines. Do NOT simply run Everest on
any random machine (like your machine at work), because the key won't work.

Frequently Asked Questions about Registration:

-------

Q: What happens if I reinstall Windows 95 or upgrade to Window 98?

A: If you simply reinstall Windows or upgrade without totally erasing your harddrive, then
   nothing should change in principle.
-------

Q: What happens if I reinstall Everest or move it to another directory?

A: Make sure that you keep your Everest.ini file intact. Move it to the new directory.
If you upgrade Everest, put the new Everest.exe in the same place as the old one and
   everything will be fine.
-------

Q: I accidentally deleted my Everest.ini file, and I can't find the email you sent me
   that had the key.
Q: My Harddisk totally crashed, and I lost everything!

A: Simply contact MTL Software and send the code again to get a new, free
key. We have a database of all registered users.

-------

Q: My email doesn't allow receiving *.EXE files. What is the form of the key?

A: The key is simply one big integer, like 64353543, that can be cut and paste as text.

-------

Q: The registration code used to look like FGCLDKJOIEMOIOERZFSDF, now it looks like a number.
   What gives?

A: The new integer form allows Kagi to automatically process the code into a key. Both
forms will always work with Everest. Its also easier to write down on paper if necessary.

Sorry, direct bank-to-bank transfers are not allowed because of the high processing fee for
receiving wired money at my bank ($10! Ridiculous!).

MasterCard, etc.) and have a Secure Web Ordering Form. See http://www.kagi.com for more
information and for answers to frequently asked questions.
