DESCRIPTION

The Adobe Aiparser plug-in enables you to import EPS graphics

and Adobe Illustrator (*.ai) files into After Effects 3.1 for

Windows. This updated plug-in resolves a problem with the

Aiparser plug-in that was included with After Effects 3.1.

This update enables you to import EPS graphics and Adobe

Illustrator files into After Effects when a large number of

fonts (e.g., over 100) are active in Windows 95 or Windows NT.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Adobe After Effects 3.1 for Windows

HANDLING NOTES

After downloading a ".exe" file in Windows, double-click on the

".exe" file to access the file's contents.

INSTALLATION NOTES

1. Quit After Effects.

2. Copy the Aiparser.8by file into the After

Effects\Plug-Ins\Standard\Format folder, replacing the existing

Aiparser.8by file.

3. Restart After Effects.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Version 3.0.5.1AE of the Aiparser.8by file is dated 08/11/97 and

has a file size of 65,536 bytes. To view the version, size, and

date of a file, right-click on it in Windows Explorer, and then

choose Properties from the pop-up menu.

When opening EPS graphics or Adobe Illustrator files, After

Effects will perform a font substitution if your file contains

text that has not been converted to paths and is formatted in a

font not available on the system.

After Effects substitutes the missing fonts with either the

default system font (i.e., Arial) or the first font in the list

of installed fonts on your system. To prevent font substitution:

1. Create a backup copy of your EPS graphic or Adobe

Illustrator file.

2. Convert all text to paths using the application that

created it (e.g., Adobe Illustrator).

3. Reopen the modified file in After Effects.

OR:

1. Identify the missing font(s) by examining the file in

the application that created it (e.g., Adobe Illustrator).

2. Install the missing font(s).

3. Reopen the file in After Effects.

For more information on converting text to paths, see the User

Guide for your application that created the EPS graphic or Adobe

Illustrator file.
