    Status Keeper (tm) v1.0

Every attempt has been made to provide you with a quality product. All steps have been taken to insure the safe installation and, if necessary, the safe removal of the program from your system. We have made every attempt to insure our program does not affect others. Please follow the simple instructions and advice given below.:

1. Installation:
Once the sksetup.zip file is opened, you may run SKsetup.EXE and follow instructions. The additional file SKsetup.W02 is the second part of the distribution kit. This two file approach was done to make it easy to move Status Keeper's setup to two diskettes. README.TXT (this file) should be kept with the two setup files and may be stored on the second diskette.

Status Keeper also provides UnInstall functionality through the add/remove window in control panel or by simply running Unwise.exe in the application folder. We recomend using Custom UnInstall ( Please see #3 below for further information ).

2. Files Installed:
An install log is created, listing the files installed. If a file is newer than the one on your system, it is installed. If you select to backup replaced files during the installation (good choice always), your older file is move to a backup folder. Additional entries are placed in the registry for program groups, icons, and registering Status Keeper with your system. The following files are installed.:

        File Installation:

        APPLICATION Files
                \Main Folder
                SK.EXE
                INSTALL.LOG
                README.TXT
                UNWISE.EXE
                \Windows\System Folder
                SKTRAY.OCX

        SYSTEM Files
                \Windows\System Folder
                SYSINFO.OCX
                COMCTL32.OCX
                OLEDLG.DLL
                SHLWAPI.DLL

                COMCT232.OCX

        VB5 Runtime Files
                \Windows\System Folder
                MSVBVM50.DLL
                COMDLG32.OCX
                STDOLE2.TLB
                OLEAUT32.DLL
                OLEPRO32.DLL
                ASYCFILT.DLL
                COMCAT.DLL

3. Program Removal:
To uninstall this program, select Add/Remove from the control panel or run the Unwise.exe in the program directory. I recommend selecting 'Custom Uninstall' which allows selecting the files to remove (this is generally a good practice with any program, if given the choice).

With Status Keeper, it is safe to select all registry settings and application files. The system level files should generally not be selected. They are the VB5 runtime and common system files which may be used by other applications.

SK.exe and SKtray.ocx, registry settings, and icons are safe to remove. The other system level files are provided with Status Keeper to insure you have them and generally should not be removed.

Should you remove them and adversely affect another program, simply reinstall Status Keeper, and choose custom uninstall, leaving the system level files.
