Calendars for the Web v1.2 -- ODBC.TXT
==========================================

Installing the ODBC components
-------------------------------

Microsoft's ODBC components are necessary to run this program. By
default the demo version of the Calendars for the Web setup program
does not install ODBC. If you received this software on a CD-ROM
the installation program will install these components and you
can disregard this notice.

To determine if you need to install ODBC, run Calendars
for the Web. If you get a warning that you are missing files,
you will need to install ODBC.

Note that if you are running Windows 95 and your computer already
has Microsoft Office for Windows '95 installed chances are that
you will not need to install ODBC.

If you think you need to install the ODBC components follow these
instructions.

Preparing for the ODBC installation
-------------------------------------
1. Create a temporary directory called c:\calweb\odbc.

2. Download the file called odbc.exe from the Great Hill
	Corporation home page.

To do so point your web browser at:

		http://www.greathill.com/calweb/win95.htm, or
		http://www.greathill.com/calweb/winnt.htm, or
		http://www.greathill.com/calweb/win31.htm

depending on which operating system you are installing
to. Make sure you pick the right one. These files
are different for the different operating systems.

About halfway down the page you will find a button
labled "Click here to download odbc.exe (or odbc32.exe)".

3. Click on this link and instruct your browser to download the
file into the directory c:\calweb\odbc. A file called
'odbc.exe' (or odbc32.exe) will be placed in this directory.

4. When the download completes, run the executable odbc.exe.
This is a self extracting archive, it will unpack about
	twenty files.

5. Proceed to the next section.

Installing the ODBC components
-------------------------------
1. Find the file called c:\calweb\odbc\setup.exe

2. Run this program. It will install all the neccassary ODBC
	components.

3. Re-boot your system when the installation is complete.

4. If Calendars for the Web now works, you may erase all the files
in c:\calweb\odbc and remove this directory.
