Changes in Class Marks from ver 4.0 to ver 4.0a

Bugs Fixed

1. Printing in a strange font and weird characters - fixed

Class Marks uses the MS LineDraw font. If it is absent from your computer, the printing is strange. Class Marks now installs the font during setup.

2. Editing Student Information - fixed

If you delete a student and then edit a student name below the deleted student, the change is done to the wrong student and the display is now incorrect.

3. No Such Class Error Message - fixed

Sometimes, a class cannot be opened and gives the error message NO SUCH CLASS even though it is visible in the Open Class dialog box.

4. Dialog boxes too large for screen - fixed

If you use Large Fonts in Windows, dialog boxes become too large for the screen and the Ok and Cancel buttons cannot be seen. See item #10 in Changes below.

Changes

1. Arrow Keys and Tab

Within certain dialog boxes, eg, Edit Student Info, you now have to use the tab key to move to the next field and use the arrow keys (left and right) to move within a field.

2. Delete and F6

You can now delete marks and students using the function key F6. Works in all relevant dialog boxes.

3. Ok button and Open Class Dialog

If no class has been selected, the Ok button will not close the dialog box. Use the Cancel button.

4. Class Directory Path in Options and Drive A

In Options/System, if you enter drive A for the Class or Comments Directory Path, Class Marks does not check for drive A, but will assume that drive A exists.

5. Print to File (Export)

Print to File is now always disabled (unchecked) when Class Marks starts. You can turn it on in Options/System, and it will remain enabled for that session. When Class Marks restarts, it will be disabled again.

6. Print sizes

One more print size has been added to printouts and the print sizes have been renamed to Large (Normal 12), Medium (Elite 10), Small (New size 8) and Tiny (Compressed 7).

7. Default Print Size

The print size Medium (formerly Elite) is now the default for all printouts except Full Page Reports and Student Information which continue to use the Large size.

8. Printing Blank Mark Sheets

Two options have been added for flexibility

a) Number of Blank Lines at the Top of the Sheet - some teachers like to have white space at the top of the page to write in Mark Descriptions, etc. Now you can choose from 0 to 10 blank lines. The default is 1.

b) Number of Rows for Mark Identification - some teachers like boxes to show mark information, eg, mark name, total, date, etc. You can now choose from 0 to 10 rows. The default is 3.

9. Enter as Tab key

Finally, in certain dialogs, the enter key will not try to exit the dialog box but will act as a tab key and move the cursor to the next field.

10. Large Fonts and Class Marks

Finally, Class Marks is compatible with large fonts in all resolutions. In Windows 95, use Control Panel/Display/Settings to change to large fonts. In Windows 3.1, use Main/Setup to change the video driver to large fonts.

11. Printing Full Page Reports

Now you can change the print size for full-page reports. Choose Large, Medium, Small and Tiny. The default is Medium.
