             Installing HTML Notepad V2.2 for Windows 3.1

If you are using Windows 95 and are reading this you have the wrong version.
Please go and search for htmln295.zip it will definitely be at;
http://www.cranial.com/software/htmlnote

HTML Notepad does not have an install program as this would be larger than
the main code. It is relatively simplistic and does not write files all over
your hard disk. It also does not affect Windows in any way ( by adding info
to system.ini or win.ini for example). Below are some steps to installing
HTMLn2, making it the default HTML launcher and removing it.

(For downloaded version)
1. Use pkunzip -d to unzip all the files in the directory you would like them
       installed ( the -d is necessary as there are some directories which
       need to be created.)

(For floppy disk version)
1. Copy all files from the disk into a directory (apart from /software).

2. From Windows 3.1 go to program manager (or your program shell) and the
       window group you would like the HTML Notepad icon within. Then
       select File|New and select Program Item once you have pressed OK
       you will see a dialog box. If you press the browse button you can
       then search for the executable. Once found and ok'ed you are then
       installed just click on that icon to go.

-----

If you would like to run HTML Notepad when you click on a file in file
manager then;

1. Start file manager. Select any html file.

2. Select File|Associate... the file with extension should say htm.

3. As in section 2 in the install section browse for the executable file.

4. Test your setup by double clicking on a HTML file.

NB: This will delete any other associations you may have for HTML files.

-----

Removing HTML. This will of course never happen but just in case.

1. Just delete all the files in the directory and also delete any icons or
        associations made. You cannot affect Windows by deleting htmln2.
