Upgrading to FoolProof Security (R) for Windows 95, version 3.4
from earlier versions

You can upgrade from earlier versions of FoolProof Security for
Windows 95 without loosing your FoolProof settings.

- Upgrading a workstation that is not using FoolProof Network Settings

1. Launch FoolProof Control, turn FoolProof OFF, and close FoolProof
    Control.

2. Launch the FoolProof 3.4 installer "Setup.exe".

3. Proceed with the installation until you arrive at the "Overwrite
    Settings?" page.

4. To keep your current settings when upgrading to FoolProof 3.4,
click "No" when asked "Do you wish to overwrite your current
FoolProof Database with the Default Installation Database?"

5. Continue with the installation. When completed, your existing
settings, including passwords, will still be in effect.

- Upgrading workstations that are using a FoolProof Remote Database

1. On the server that contains the FoolProof Remote Database, create
a new Remote Database folder. (See the FoolProof Security
    User Guide for details.)

2. On a workstation you wish to upgrade, launch FoolProof Control.

3. In FoolProof Control "Network Settings" switch to "Use Local
FoolProof Database" and Save the change.

4. Turn FoolProof OFF and close FoolProof Control.

5. Launch the FoolProof 3.4 installer "Setup.exe".

6. Proceed with the installation until you arrive at the "Overwrite
    Settings?" page.

7. To keep your current settings when upgrading to FoolProof 3.4,
click "No" when asked "Do you wish to overwrite your current
FoolProof Database with the Default Installation Database?"

8. Continue with the installation. When completed, your existing
settings, including passwords, will still be in effect. At this
point FoolProof is still using local settings.

9. Launch FoolProof Control.

10. In FoolProof Control "Network Settings" select "Use Remote
FoolProof Database" and use "Browse..." to select the NEW
FoolProof Remote Database folder you created in step 1.
(See the User Guide for details.)

The workstation is now using Remote FoolProof settings in the new
Remote Database folder.

You can now upgrade other workstations that are using FoolProof
Network Settings.

1. At the workstation you just upgraded, create a FoolProof Custom
Installation disk. (See the User Guide for details.)

2. Use this Custom Installation disk to install FoolProof onto all
other workstations. Each workstation will be upgraded to the new
version of FoolProof, and will be using the new FoolProof Remote
    Database folder you created.

Once all workstations are upgraded, you may delete the original
FoolProof Remote Database folder on the server.
