and prevents people from making changes with Windows
   Explorer.

4) WHAT'S NEW IN RELEASE 3.4 OF FOOLPROOF FOR WINDOWS 95
   - FoolProof is now compatible with Athena.
(To configure FoolProof properly for use with Athena,
     please read the accompanying document
     "Important Athena Information".)
   - Program Control has been improved significantly.
   - New VXD log to help with trouble shooting.
   - Many small problems with the program and the installer
     are now fixed as well.

5) BEFORE INSTALLING FOOLPROOF
   a. Read the Getting Started Guide and Troubleshooting
      Guide for important information.
   b. Remove any other security software that has been installed
on the system, then restart the system.
   c. Perform a virus scan on the system to verify the system is
virus free. This step is critical if you are installing
      Bootlock.
   d. Turn off or disable any virus protection. This includes
virus scanning software and BIOS based virus protection for
the hard drive Boot Sector. (Often referred to as the MBR
      or the Boot Sector)
   e. If you are installing FoolProof on a Compaq Presario ES
model, read the appropriate section of the Troubleshooting
      Guide for important information.

6) INSTALLING FOOLPROOF
   a. Insert the FoolProof disk in the 3.5" disk drive.
   b. Double click on SETUP.EXE.
   c. FoolProof's install wizard will prompt you for required
      information.
   d. It is recommended that you install FoolProof in the default
destination location, C:\Fp95. If you choose to install in
different location, FoolProof 3.4 should not be installed
into a directory with a name longer than eight characters.
   e. If you decide to install the Bootlock feature you will
be prompted to create an Emergency Repair Disk. It is
highly recommended that you do so.
   f. After FoolProof's installer restarts the system, be sure
to run FoolProof Control and save your settings before
installing any other applications. Be sure to turn
FoolProof off before installing other applications.

7) IF YOU HAVE THE EVALUATION VERSION
The evaluation period is 60 days. After 30 days you will
receive a warning letting you know that the evaluation
period is drawing to a close.

The evaluation software has two important limitations:

The Bootlock/Keylock features are not included with the
evaluation version of FoolProof Security. "Bootlock"
allows you to configure the software so that even if
a user boots the computer from a floppy disk, they
cannot access the computer's hard drive without a password.
"Keylock" prevents users from interrupting the computer's
startup sequence by pressing the <F5> or <F8> keys.

These features are of course available to you in the
      actual version of the software.

8) FAQS: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT FOOLPROOF

   Installing, Uninstalling, and Configuring FoolProof
   ---------------------------------------------------
Q: How can I change the default Group Assigned Folder?
A: During the installation, you are prompted to enter the
location for FoolProof Group Assigned Folders. Once this has
been done it cannot be changed unless FoolProof is uninstalled
and then reinstalled. The default Group Assigned Folder is
C:\FPUSER. By default, a folder called STARTUP will be created
in the Group Assigned Folder location. If you want to use a
folder other than C:\FPUSER as your Group Assigned Folder,
you must select it while installing FoolProof.

Q: I'm not using FoolProof Groups. Can I use a folder other
than STARTUP as my assigned folder?
A: The STARTUP folder is hard coded into FoolProof and cannot
be changed. You can create other folders in addition to the
   startup folder for different users.

Q: How do I uninstall FoolProof?
A: a) Turn FoolProof off.
   b) Go to the Windows 95 Control Panel and open Add/Remove
Programs (Double click on My Computer, Control Panel,
      Add/Remove Programs).
   c) Find FoolProof95 Security System in the installed programs
listbox. Select it by clicking on it.
   d) Click the Add/Remove Button. FoolProof's uninstall wizard
will remove all of FoolProof's components including Bootlock.

   Operating System Compatibility
   ----------------------------------------------
Q: Does FoolProof work with Windows 95 System Policies?
A: Do not use System Policies and FoolProof at the same time.

A: Currently FoolProof cannot recognize groups created by
   Network Operating Systems.
