[ Summary of Software ]
Fzip Family Tree is a highly featured,
fast and easy to use Windows genealogy package.
The software allows a person to view, search,
maintain genealogy details and report on family trees.

It has EXTREMELY HIGH speed GEDCOM import and export
facilities making it suitable as a GEDCOM browser.

The main screen show up to 4 generations of people
and provides simple navigation around a family tree.

A simple search facility (Easy Find) is available to quickly and
easily find people. In addition a powerful and fast search (Find)
and sort facility can search by any field for
People, Marriages, Places and Sources and includes a
special selection to select Roots, Unrelated, Ancestors,
	Ancestor Roots, Descendants.

Entry and modification of data is simple and quick using
	full screen data entry.

Sixteen different reports are available including :-
		1. Current Person
		2. Selected People
		3. Selected Marriages
		4. Selected Places
		5. Selected Sources
		6. LDS Ordinances
		7. Descendant Tree Report
		8. Family Group Report
		9. Descendant Box Chart
	       10. Descendant Story
	       11. Ancestors Report

	       16. Date Check Report

The Select reports have choices for sorting the data.

Reports can be directed to the screen, printer or file.

There is a limit of 65,534 people per file. Each person may have
        up to 600 children.

A bookmark facility is available with up to 20 bookmarks
being available for use. These are stored with a
	genealogy file.

New Genealogy files are easily created and accessed and
use little disk space. The number of genealogy files
supported is limited only by available disk space.

When a genealogy file is saved a backup of the previous
version is stored as a backup.

The program works by loading all the genealogy data
into fast computer memory. Changes are not saved to
disk until the Save command is executed.

        Online help is available.

The main differences between this software and others
are the speed of displaying, searching, importing and
exporting data and the small size of its data files.

[ Disclaimer ]
The Genealogy computer software is provided as is.
No responsibility is accepted for loss of profit,
data or incidental damage associated with the use
	of this software.

[ Configuration ]
This program requires an IBM PC or compatible to run
with Windows 3.1 and 4 MB of memory or Windows 95 with
8MB of RAM. (It has been run under Windows NT although
not extensively tested.) If necessary it
can be run from a floppy disk.

[ Installation ]
	1. Make a backup copy of the diskette.
	2. Run program SETUP on the installation diskette
This will create a directory for the software,
copy the software to this directory and create
program manager icons to run the program.

When the program is run it will create the FZIPFT.INI
	file on the Windows directory.

If you are installing this on a machine which already
contains GENEA then you will need to manually move
any .GEN files to the FZIP directory and then perform
	File Open again.

[ Uninstallation ]
	1. Export all your genealogy files as GEDCOM files in a
directory different to the program directory.
	2. Delete FZIP.INI file from the WINDOWS directory.
	3. Delete directory that program exists on.

[Running from Floppy Disk]
The program can be run from floppy disk by running
FZIP.EXE. If you do this it is recommended GENERR.TXT
is made read only. When this is done GEDCOM import
errors are written to the hard disk to file
C:\GENERR.TXT rather than to the same directory as
FZIP.EXE. (The same comments apply if this is to be
	run from CD ROM.)
