App.A Information Regarding Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 Runtime SP3

===================================================
I. Intro

This program calculates how long is it till the Millennium, or the year of 2001. Although I've seen a similar program among the net personally, but the program was very ugly, and it can't even calculate the time correctly. I then decided to redesign the Count Down 21 I previously designed. I tried hard to make the program as good as I can. I believe you will like this program.

===================================================
II. System Requirement

Nothing important, except:

  Windows 95/98/NT required
  Pentium or above suggested
  Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 Runtime Library SP3 (See App. A)

===================================================
III. Installation

To install, simply unzip mileniu3.zip and run the setup.exe enclosed. The setup process is fairly short, and only takes less than 255k of your hard drive space. Then, setup will install milenium.exe to the directory you specified (default is C:\Program Files\Millennium). Setup will create two Program Manager icons. One of the icons is installed in the root of the Program Manager Group. The other icon is installed into the Startup group, where you can have the Millennium always up and running when you start Windows (Notice: This only works for English edition of Windows. For users of other languages of Windows, you will have to manually move the icon to the Program Manager group that functions as the Startup group in your Windows).

IV. Using Millennium

GENERAL
You don't need to do anything, basically. In order to keep the program neat and clean on your desktop, I didn't put any command list or things like that on the program. All the commands are accessed by right-clicking on the Millennium icon in the icon tray.

VI. Program History

VERSION 0.0
This is just a beta test of the program. Was not published.

VRESION 1.0
This version is the third program I've ever made. The looking is cool, but it doesn't look nice when putting on the desktop. This version has two languages, English and Traditional Chinese. User can change between those two.

VERSION 2.0
I redesigned the entire user-interface to make it cool and neat on desktop. Also, I deleted unnecessary subs to increase the speed of the program. The multi-language part is deleted, and user can't set the accuracy of the clock since I've pre-set the accuracy for the user.

VERSION 2.1
Several bug-fixes of the previous version. No big modification.

VERSION 2.20
Digital display is included. Also, you can change the targeting year to 2000 if you don't feel like counting down to 2001.

VERSION 2.21
The About section is modified, and my information is put on.

VERSION 2.22
Always on Top function is included.

App. A Information Regarding Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 Runtime SP3

I write my programs in Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 with Service Pack 3. This requires that you have the runtime library installed to your system, and it must be the exact same version.

You may download the runtime setup from ftp://ftp.zdnet.com/pub/private/sWlIB/computer_programming/libraries_custom_controls/vb5runol.zip.
