ABOUT
-----
Crypt-o-Text is a powerful and easy to use Windows utility that is designed
to give added security to e-mail messages. Even if you send a message
privately, there is still a good chance that others will see the message --
especially if it is sent over large networks, like the internet.

Using Crypt-o-Text, you can "scramble" your message so that it is
unreadable... at least until it is "unscrambled" by the person receiving
your message. Additionally, you can apply password-protection so that the
scrambled message can only be unscrambled by someone who knows the password
you used to scramble it.

Crypt-o-Text is distributed as a shareware software product. This gives
you the ability to try out the program before you pay for it, thus allowing
you to see if it fits your specific needs. If you find the program useful,
you are asked to register the product. Registering Crypt-o-Text gets you
a registration "code" that removes the opening wait screen on this and ALL
FUTURE VERSIONS of Crypt-o-Text. Once you register, there is no need to
register again! (Please see the online help file for the registration form
and for pricing information.)

Crypt-o-Text works with Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and Windows NT. For
Windows 95 and Windows NT users, there is a 32-bit version of Crypt-o-Text
available.

HOW TO INSTALL
--------------
To install, simply run the SETUP.EXE (or SETUP32.EXE if you have the 32-bit
version of Crypt-o-Text) program from within Windows. The setup program
will install all necessary files to a directory of your choice, and then
create icons for you.

If you later decide that Crypt-o-Text does not fit your needs, you may
uninstall the program by double-clicking on the "Uninstall Crypt-o-Text"
icon that was created when you installed Crypt-o-Text. (Windows 95
users will find the uninstall option in the Control Panel. Double-click
on the "Add/Remove Programs" item to uninstall Crypt-o-Text.)

HOW TO USE
----------
Double-click on the Crypt-o-Text icon to start the program. Encrypting a
message couldn't be simpler! Simply type the message you'd like to send,
then when you're ready to send it, encrypt the message by selecting the
Action|Encrypt menu command. You can then choose a password to encrypt the
message with. After the message is encrypted, simply Copy the encrypted
text and Paste it into your favorite e-mail program.

Decrypting encrypted messages is also extremely easy. When you receive an
encrypted message, simply Copy the message from your favorite e-mail program
and paste it into Crypt-o-Text. Select the Action|Decrypt menu command, and
if the text is password protected, you'll be asked to supply the password.
After the text is decrypted, it will be displayed inside Crypt-o-Text.

There are also other ways to go about encrypting and decrypting text. For
more complete instructions please see the online help. Thanks for
evaluating Crypt-o-Text!
