Dear ShareWare Vendor/Sysop:

This file contains our distribution policy.

 @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

All WebMining products are protected under international law by registered copyrights. As a Shareware distributor, you have permission to distribute our shareware in its original electronic form as long as you:

* identify it as shareware (with an appropriate definition)

* leave all intellectual property (copyright) notices in place

..and as long as we do not request that you stop.

You may archive our programs, unarchive them, use your own installation routines, include them with other programs on the same diskette, and do essentially anything you want as long as you follow these simple rules.

We want the widest possible distribution, and don't want to stand in your way so long as you are honest with our mutual customer.

Our normal distribution sequence is:

 1. New versions, updates, add-ons, etc. are uploaded to our Web Site.

 2. New major versions are offered to our registered users and are automatically shipped to new registrants.

 3. Major revisions and new products are uploaded to our Web Site.

 4. If you are a catalog house, send us a copy of the catalog in which the program appears, together with a copy of the diskette(s) containing the program(s) you wish to distribute; we will send you a copy of any major updates to our software. If you run a BBS or an FTP site, send us a diskette(s) containing the program(s) you wish to distribute, and your mailing address, and we will update the diskette and mail it back to you.

If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints, please contact:

Description: WMVault login and password manager

WMVault was designed to manage a person's multiple logins and passwords, with the storage of encryted passwords, applying different validation and expiry rules.

If you have multiple systems that you log onto, it can be very difficult coming up with ever more passwords that:

a) you can remember
b) no-one else can guess
c) have different validation rules
d) need to be changed at different intervals

If your passwords are easy to remember, it will be easy for someone to guess them. There are in fact many password dictionaries available, which someone may use to guess your passwords.

If you then use the same passwords on multiple systems, then if someone guesses correctly, they will have access to all of the systems that you log into.

Also, many systems now force you to have a difficult password with validation rules, which make it harder for hackers AND valid users.

If you have ever selected the save password setting available in some software, or just do not use it often enough to remember, it can cause some real problems unless it is a really dumb password eg "password". An example could be a password for a server digital certificate or router, which may only be used after a hard disk failure or machine upgrade. You could store passwords on a piece of paper, but this presents other problems. eg if you lose it, your stuffed, wherever you keep it, it probably isn't secure, and isn't easy to update or make secure backup copies.

WMVault can remove the password management nightmare for you!
