Tablat is a utility designed by a guitarist to make the job of
   entering and converting tablature easier.

   1) Installation
In the Windows Program Manager menu bar, choose "File" and
"Run". Enter the drive and directory where the Tablat setup
files are located followed by 'setup.exe'

                ex. c:\tablat\setup.exe

The Setup routine will take over and prompt you for a path
for the installed version of Tablat.

   2) Entering ASCII tablature.

On the main Tablat screen, any number may be entered on the
staves as can any of the standard ASCII tablature characters
         listed in the following table:

             t,h,p,b,r - Tap, Hammer, Pull-off, Bend, Release
/,\ - Slide up, Slide down
                     ~ - Vibrato
                     x - Mute string
                     | - Measure line

In addition, Pressing 'a' activates open ASCII mode which
allows any typable character to be entered.

   3) Control keys

[CTRL] + [l] - Load previously saved work (.TBL only)
[CTRL] + [o] - Output to ASCII text file. Append allows tabs
to be added to existing .TAB files
[CTRL] + [e] - Output to ASCII text file and edit

      *Tools*
[CTRL][c] - Chord Maker Utility. You can select a chord from
the database file to be automatically displayed.
Choosing "ADD" from the selection screen will
allow additions to the database file. File is
                    limited to 109 entries
[CTRL][s] - Chord Solver Utility. Attempts to match a sel-
ected area of tablature to a database of chord
formulas. For example: if the chord formula of
the selected tab is 1-3-5 in the key of C then it
will suggest "C" as a possible chord.
[c] - Activates chord mode. With this mode active, the
cursor will not advance after an entry. This mode
is useful when entering alot of chords.
      *Edit*
Use the mouse to select a segment of tab to be copied to
the clipboard. When the segment you want is surrounded by
a black box, release the mouse button and the data is
        transferred to the clipboard.

           a) Recovery into Tablat - position cursor where you wish
the segment to be pasted and choose paste from the
                 edit menu.

           b) Pasting Sections to Other Applications - Tablat allows
transfer to anothere application through the Windows
Clipboard. Using the mouse, select the area of
tablature you want to transfer. The area is then
written to the clipboard in ASCII format, automatically.
To recover the copied section, choose "Edit|Paste" in
                 the target application(s).

   4) Using the Scale/Chord Bar
To select a new key from the Key box next to the scale bar,
simply use the mouse to cycle through the keys with the
arrow buttons. When the key you want is displayed, click
inside the display box to enter.

To select a new chord formula, follow the above procedure
       with the Chord box.

I have attempted to make the program easy to use, so little documentation
should be necessary. If you have any questions or comments, please
