Release Notes:

The TswDBTableGrid and TswDBQueryGrid listed in the printed manual have been replaced with a simpler compound grid component called TswDBMetaGrid. This single component can attach to a TTable or TQuery via a TDataSource. Please see the DBPOWER.HLP file for details on TswDBMetaGrid.

Two bonus components are included in this release (TswText and TswPanel). These are simply the non-data-aware versions of DB Power's TswDBText and TswDBPanel controls.

Also, an additional super-component is included -- TswVisNavDialog. This is a component version of the Visual Navigator utility program. As with other dialog-type components, you sctivate the TswVisNavDialog at run-time by calling the Execute method.

A Delphi project file for creating a stand-alone, executable version of Visual Navigator is located in the ..\DBPower\VisNav directory as VISNAV4.DPR.

--------------------------------------------

Last minute enhancements and changes that were made after the printed manual was created are reflected in the DBPOWER.HLP file. If there are any differences between the printed and on-line documentation, you should assume that the on-line documentation is correct, as it will always be more current. For example, the installation procedures as listed in the printed manual have been updated and are no longer correct. The correct installation procedures are listed below and are also correct in the help file (DBPOWER.HLP).

INSTALLATION:

If you have a previous install of DB Power 1.x installed on your system, you should remove it from your Delphi environment BEFORE installing DB Power 2.0.

To install DB Power, run the SETUP.EXE program. Registered users should have their DB Power 2.0 serial number available during the installation. A serial number is not required in order to install DB Power as an EVALUATION edition. The EVALUATION edition will not allow execution of DB Power applications outside of the Delphi/C++Builder IDE.

The SETUP program will copy the DB Power files to your hard drive and will also generate a custom "To Do" list. This list will be displayed automatically at the end of the SETUP routine and will outline the additional manual steps required to fully integrate DB power into your Delphi / C++Builder environment.

--------------------------------------------

See the DBPOWER.HLP file for complete information on each component included in DB Power.

--------------------------------------------

Sample Programs:

The sample programs included in this release are designed for use with BDE table types (ttDBase and ttParadox). If you are also using Apollo, you will need to make sure that you are using Apollo's SDE_BDE configuration in order for some of the DB Power demos to work properly.
