1. OVERVIEW

Do you organise sporting competitions?

  Use Home or Away to schedule your teams in a round robin
  competition at lightning fast speed. Create a basic schedule in
  just a few minutes. Just enter the names of the teams, press the
  generate schedule button and print the schedule. Home or Away
  does not force you to enter any information that it does not need
  or cannot work out for itself.

Are your scheduling needs more complex?

  Use Home or Away for advanced schedules as well. Schedule
  competitions for as many as forty teams with these features:

  * Dates, Times and Locations
  Specify date ranges, holiday periods, playing days, number of
  games at each time etc. with powerful date functions. Enter
  details of available times and locations and assign preferred
  home locations and playing times.

  * Modify games manually
  Manually modify the games that Home or Away schedules to handle
  exceptional situations. Home or Away preserves your changes and
  reschedules the remaining games.

  * Optimisation
  Summarise the schedule to see at a glance how well balanced it
  is. Optimise the schedule to reduce the total number or
  distribution of home or away streaks.

  * Presentation capabilities
  Customise the printed schedules by selecting font styles, sizes
  and page orientation. Export the information to spreadsheets
  (e.g. MS Excel), database managers (e.g. MS Access) and word
  processors (e.g. MS Word) to exploit their extensive data handling,
  report design and formatting capabilities.

  * Internet-ready schedules
  Publish your schedules on the Internet or view them with a Web
  Browser by exporting them in the web page HTML format.

==================================================
2. WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 2.2

  * Time Generation
  Select dates / times to specify how many games are played at each
  time on each day. e.g.

    2 games at 7pm on Mondays
    4 games at 6:30pm and 1 game at any time on Wednesdays
    1 game at 6pm on Fridays

  Specify different combinations of days and times for different
  dates or ranges of dates to be played. Similarly, exclude days
  and times that are not available.

  Select Any Time for any day that you want a number of games to
  be generated, but want to assign the times manually.

  * Opening Schedule Files
  There are three new ways of opening existing Home or Away schedule
  files:

  Drag and Drop
    Open a saved schedule by dragging and dropping it from File
    Manager or Windows 95 Explorer onto the Home or Away schedule
    window.

  Double-Click on a Schedule
    Use Windows to associate the file extension .HAD with the
    program name homeaway.exe. Double-click on the name of a saved
    schedule file in File Manager or Windows 95 Explorer. Home or
    Away will start up and open the schedule.

  Run
    Home or Away accepts the name of a saved schedule as a
    parameter. Use the Windows run command to start Home or Away
    with an opened schedule. e.g.

      run c:\homeaway\homeaway.exe schedule.had

    Alternatively, you could setup an icon to always start Home
    or Away with a specific schedule file.

  * Number of Rounds
  When generating a schedule you can manually enter the number
  of rounds to be generated. Alternatively, you can let Home or
  Away automatically calculate it from the date ranges and number
  of games for each time and day that you have specified.

  * Modified Games
  If a game is manually modified it keeps its position and details
  when the schedule is regenerated.

  * Optimisation
  The optimisation method selected is stored with the schedule
  and used as the default the next time the schedule is opened and
  rescheduled.

  * Configuration
  Time format can be either am/pm or 24-hour style. e.g. 05:30pm
  or 17:30. The time format displayed and printed in the generated
  schedule automatically matches the format you used when entering
  the times.

  * Removal of Date Limits
  Previous restrictions on the number of dates that could be
  generated and the five year time span have been removed.
