INTRODUCTION
======================================================================
Message Parse is a utility that will extract information from email messages either from a MAPI compliant mail reader or from internet POP3 mail boxes. You can define templates that tell Message Parse what you want from the messages and where to store the infomation. Message Parse creates delimited text files from your messages ready to be imported into other applications like spreadsheets, accounting packages and database applications.

How to Install
======================================================================
Message Parse requires either Windows 95 or NT 4.0 or greater as the operating system. Unzip the download file to a temporary directory. From Windows explorer find the application "setup.exe" and double click the file. Once installed you can remove the files from the temporary directory.

NOTE! To use the POP3 capabilities the following software requirements are need.

	Windows NT4.0 - Service Pack 1 and Microsoft TCP/IP stack.
	Windows 95 - Kernal Update (krnlup.exe) and Service Pack 1

This software can be found at the Microsoft Web Site.

NEW IN THIS VERSION
======================================================================
* Added additional options in the variable definitions. There are now options for defining from Beginning of Field as the starting point where data exist. Also there are options for "End of Field" and 'End of Line" as options for where the data extraction should end.

* Added help text to the variable definition dialog. The help text will appear on the variable tab when you are designing templates. This help text is a plain English version of what you have set as the variable properties. It is design to make clear to the user what the current settings means. The text is real time, in that it updates as you make changes. The feature can be turned on and off with in the system options dialog.

* Added the ability to defined whether or not Line Feeds and Carriage Returns should be removed from within extracted data. By default, Message Parse will not remove these characters so that the original text is preserved.

THE FUTURE PLANS FOR MESSAGE PARSE
======================================================================
Here we announce the plans that have been made, but have not made it into the application at the time of this release. Of course, the plans could always change based on the needs of the users and we cannot tell you exactly when or even if these plans will be implemented. As a user, you can always influence these plans by letting us know what you would like to see or need from this application.

*) VBScript:
We will be adding the ability to apply your own variable manipulation to the variables for output through the use of the VBScripting language. This will add a great deal of flexibility to meet your needs.

*) Multiple Line Output:
Currently only one line of output can be defined, and there is a need to be able to define additional lines for headers and that kind of things to make msgParse useable to users that have pre-defined import requirements.

*) Direct Output to Databases:
Delimited files are great for importing but sometimes there is a need for data to be directly inputted to users databases. This would certainly add to the capabilities and functionality for users.
