For use with the CD-ROM version of PC-cillin if your system is infected
prior to the installation of PC-cillin.

===========================================================================

To use this disk to clean a virus:

1) Boot the computer with a non-infected DOS boot diskette or
Windows 95 Startup diskette. Insert the PC-cillin Emergency
Clean Disk in the 3 1/2 floppy drive and type A: and press
Enter. (Substitute B: if that is your 3 1/2 floppy drive.)

2) Type PCSCAN /P and press Enter.

3) If PCSCAN reports finding the virus in memory, the diskette you
booted from is infected with the virus. Please obtain a new non-
infected system diskette (YOU CANNOT MAKE A NON-INFECTED SYSTEM
DISKETTE ON A COMPUTER THAT IS INFECTED WITH A VIRUS).

4) If PCSCAN finds a virus in the boot sector, and prompts C to Clean
or L to Leave alone; press C to clean the virus and follow the rest
of the instructions. If no virus is found continue with step 6.

5) When the A: prompt reappears, type PCSCAN /P [Enter] again.
If no viruses are found, go to step 6. If the virus is still present,
restart from step 1.

6) Windows NT users using NTFS skip this step. Type PCSCAN C: and
press Enter. If a virus is found, follow the on screen instructions.
If no virus is found continue with step 7.

7) Remove any diskette from the floppy drive and reboot the computer.
If the computer boots properly, go to step 8. If the computer doesn't
boot from the hard drive, the virus has damaged your hard drive;
please contact your local computer repair technician for assistance.

8) Follow the installation instructions in the manual to install
PC-cillin.

9) After PC-cillin is installed, scan ALL floppy diskettes and
all hard drives installed in the system to ensure they are not
infected with any viruses. This step will minimize the chance of
being re-infected with a virus.
