What’s in (and not in) This User’s Guide

Think of the straightest line between two points, the path to a destination "as the crow flies." That’s the path we take you on in the Microsoft Project User’s Guide. You get the straight-ahead way to accomplish tasks you typically encounter when planning, creating, and tracking projects. You can quickly find and read the information you need to complete your project planning efficiently.

By no means does the Microsoft Project User’s Guide provide instructions for every task you might perform. What it does provide are procedures for the tasks you’re most likely to perform from the beginning of the project-planning stage to project completion. There’s little branching to coverage of less commonly used tasks or tasks that are very advanced. For detailed coverage of procedures for advanced tasks and processes and for any topics you don’t find in this user’s guide, look in the online Help system.

The following parts are included in the Microsoft Project User’s Guide.
