AutoFilters

An AutoFilter, available only in sheet views, displays tasks or resources that match a criterion associated with a specific column. Each column has one AutoFilter. For example, if one or more tasks listed in the Gantt Chart view have a duration of 2 days, the AutoFilter for the Duration field lists 2 days among its filtering criteria. If you select 2 days from the criteria list, Microsoft Project displays only those tasks that have a 2-day duration. (A Microsoft Project AutoFilter works just like a Microsoft Excel AutoFilter.) For more information about AutoFilters, see "Filter Your View Quickly with AutoFilters" later in this chapter.

You can use any type of filter by itself or in combination with other types. For example, you can use the Duration field AutoFilter to display only tasks that have a duration of 2 days. You can narrow your focus still further by applying an interactive filter to display only those 2-day tasks that start after a certain date.
