--------
Overview
--------

Have you ever wished you could stack up a pile of Internet links and tell your computer to go and grab those documents (or images) while you did something more useful with your time? Well, now you can!

LT Net Grabber is a shareware program which let's you automatically download web server contents off the net for your later review by simply placing all the Internet Shortcuts you want fetched into one directory and pressing a button.

---------------------
Your Time is Valuable
---------------------

When it comes to surfing the net, your time is valuable. You know it. We know it. BUT sometimes it seems like your computer doesn't. That's why we created LT Net Grabber.

As the volume of content out on the net increases and the response time of bogged down web servers decreases, reviewing information on the net can be very time consuming. With LT Net Grabber, you no longer have to wait and babysit your browser while pages or images load from the web.

-----------------
Surf with a Smile
-----------------

Web surfing should not require you to sit around waiting while an image or page off the web trickles down to your browser. With LT Net Grabber you can surf with a smile.

Consider LT Net Grabber to be your personal assistant with one clear purpose - to go and fetch documents and images off the web while you do other things.

-------------
Easy as 1-2-3
-------------

To put LT Net Grabber to work for you, all you have to do is create a directory on your system to put Internet Shortcuts to the items you want to grab off the web into. You can create the shortcuts from scratch in Win/95 or drag them right off your browser.

So as you surf the net, if you come across a page of links to other interesting pages and/or images (thumbnails), you can just drag those links into your shortcut directory and move along.

Once you've loaded up your shortcut directory with some items to retrieve, you let LT Net Grabber loose and stand back while LT Net Grabber does the rest.

System Requirements
-------------------

To run this product, you need the following minimal system:

  * 386SX (or higher)
  * 4 MB RAM
  * Hard drive with at least 1 meg of free space
  * VGA resolution screen (or better)
  * Windows 95
  * Internet IP connection

-------------------------
Installation Instructions
-------------------------

To keep transfer time to a minimum, this product has been 'zipped up'.

You will need to create a directory on your hard drive (eg. 'C:\TEMP\') and 'unzip' the file(s) you have downloaded into that directory using a program such as WINZIP or PKUNZIP.

Once you have unzipped the files, you must then run the SETUP.EXE program. After prompting you on where to install the program on your system, the setup program will prepare all of the program files in that directory.

It is generally a good idea to 'unzip' the files in one directory and install (with SETUP.EXE) to another directory. This way you can erase the first temporary directory after you have run the setup program.

---------------
Getting Started
---------------

Once you have installed LT Net Grabber, you are ready to start using it. You can run LT Net Grabber by selecting it from your Start Menu or double clicking on LtNGrab.exe file in the Win/95 Explorer window.

------------------------------
Internet Shortcuts are the Key
------------------------------

Windows 95 and /NT use Internet Shortcuts to keep track of places, documents and other items on the Internet. LT Net Grabber understands these shortcuts and uses them as pointer for things to get off the web.

You can create Internet Shortcuts several ways:

1. You can choose 'Create Shortcut' from your favourite browser if you are on a page you would like to save. This creates a shortcut on your desktop which you can drag into a directory folder.

2. You can drag a hyperlink (generally an underlined reference in a web document) right off your web browser and into a directory folder or your desktop.

3. You can cut and paste a thumbnail image shortcut (which links to a full sized image) of a web document in your web browser into a directory folder.

4. You can create an Internet Shortcut from scratch by right clicking in or on a directory folder and selecting 'New | Shortcut'. A wizard pops up and prompts you for the rest of the information to create the shortcut.

----------------------
Any HTTP: Link will Do
----------------------

LT Net Grabber is trained to understand how to retreve any http: web item. Any Internet Shortcut which begins with 'http://' is retrievable by LT Net Grabber.

----------------
Some Preparation
----------------

The first thing you need to do is create three directories on your system:

1. Internet Shortcuts Directory - This is the directory where you will put the Internet Shortcuts to items you want to retrieve off the web into. As you surf the net, you can drag your shortcuts into this directory.

2. Retrieved Documents Directory - Generally items on the Internet are referred to as documents. They can include web pages (.htm or .html), images (jpg, gif), sounds (.wav, .mid), etc. You will need a directory on your system for LT Net Grabber to put retrieved documents into. You can always move the retrieved documents from this directory to wherever you like after they have been retrieved.

3. Used Shortcuts Directory - LT net Grabber lets you start and stop retrieving at will. To avoid confusion, when a document is retrieved using an Internet Shortcut, that Internet Shortcut is moved in a 'used' directory. This way you will know which shortcuts have been retrieved.

----------------
Going for a Spin
----------------

Once you have created the directories you need for LT Net Grabber, you can start retrieving by:

1. Tell LT Net Grabber which directories you are using by selecting the appropriate drives and directories in the LT Net Grabber main form.

2. Make sure you have an Internet connection and press the [START Retrieving] button.

That's it! LT Net Grabber will attempt to fetch each item your Internet Shortcuts point to one at a time. You can go away or do other things while the retrieving is under way.

To stop, press the [STOP Retrieving] button.

-------------------
Responsible Surfing
-------------------

Although LT Net Grabber does allow you to easily scoop items off the net, just as your PC lets you copy diskettes, it does not circumvent any responsibilities you may have regarding the copyrights of the information you are retrieving.

Please be careful to observe and treat the information you choose to retrieve with the appropriate respect and care regarding any proprietary nature - that part is entirely up to you.
