[KanjiWEB] is a Chinese/Japanese KANJI WRITING, code/font
EXCHANGING and BROWSING program on ANY Windows-95/Windows-3.1,
even an English version Windows.  KanjiWEB provides JetFONT
Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese scalable 
outline fonts, in BIG5/HZ/GB/JIS/Shift-JIS/EUC Codes, which
convertible with each other on screen or in file conversion.

KanjiWEB is convenient to read, write and print out smoothy
printed-like Chinese/Japanese Kanji of various Codes,
individually or simultaneously over the Internet Newsgroup,
WWW and E-Mail, which particularly using 7-bit HZ/JIS Kanji 
Codes that even not supported by Chinese/Japanese versions of
Windows 95 and Windows 3.1.

KanjiWEB is a package consisting of MultiWord, MultiCode and
Multipad. "MultiWord" dynamically on screen convert and
display Traditionl Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese
Kanji of BIG5/HZ/GB/JIS/S-JIS/EUC Codes, over the internet
on any PC Windows. "MultiCode" will convert Traditional 
Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese text files of BIG5/
HZ/GB/JIS/S-JIS/EUC Codes with each other.  With Chinese,
Cantonese and Japanese Input Method Engines(IME) and 
"MultiPad" Kanji Editor, you can key-in, insert, delete, edit,
preview, print, save, and transmit all Kanji text files.

1.0  [SET-UP]

1.1 KanjiWEB may be downloaded from FTP site (1 mb approx.),
    copy to a directory you made in your HDD, run the file
    "KANJIWEB.EXE", then KanjiWEB program is decompressed.
     
1.2 If your subscribed KanjiWEB is in a package of ONE 3.5"
    diskette, insert it into your FDD.

1.3 From Windows Program Manger, select and run "Setup.exe" 
    by browsing KanjiWEB directory. The KanjiWEB is then 
    installed, and you will find on screen the KanjiWEB group
    windows with 3 ICON of MultiWord, MultiPad and MultiCode.



2.0 [MultiWord ON SCREEN CONVERT, DISPLAY, PRINT CHINESE/JAPANESE]

2.1 KanjiWEB provides 3 sets JetFONT outline Kanji fonts of
    Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese in
    BIG5/HZ/GB/JIS/Shift-JIS/EUC Codes, among which the fonts
    and codes are convertible with each other.

    1. Simplified Chinese Font, 7,545 characters

    2. Tranditional Chinese Font, 13,053 + 862 extended char.
       and Hong Kong's Cantonese 786 extended characters.

    3. Japanese Font, 7,831 characters (JIS-I/II, Symbols, 
       Extended IBM/NEC characters.)

2.2 To use Multiword, just click the Icon in the KanjiWeb 
    group windows; and the Icon will be displayed on right 
    side of the screen.  You may move this Icon to anywhere 
    you like.  To quit, select [X] and click on [exit].

2.3 Click the Icon [SYS] of Multiword, you will see the dialog
    box, for selecting BIG5/HZ/GB/GB+HZ/BIG5+HZ/Shift-JIS/EUC/
    JIS/JIS+Shift-JIS/JIS+EUC and System Codes.  Choose one to
    read, write or print Traditional Chinese, Simplified 
    Chinese, or Japanese Kanji.

2.4 By selecting BIG5 Code and Traditional Chinese, the file
    of BIG5 Chinese Text will be displayed on screen, just on
    your regular PC Windows environment, even on an English
    version Windows.  You may also choose [Simplified Chinese]
    to display in Simplified Chinese if you used to read it.

2.5 You may select [GB+HZ] and [Simplified Chinese], the text 
    file of Simplified Chinese in GB or HZ Code will be 
    displayed respectively on screen, or even both GB and HZ 
    coded Chinese displayed simultaneously. It is convenient
    to read the Chinese text in both GB and HZ codes in the same
    file or the same Newsgroup, for instance, while the original
    message posted in 7-bit HZ code yet the follow-up message 
    may be posted in 8-bit GB code.  Only with KanjiWEB, now you
    can read and print both GB and HZ Coded Chinese text at the
    same time!  Choosing [Simplified Chinese] or [Traditional
    Chinese], you can read the text in either one as you used to.

2.6 By selecting Japanese, and choosing one of JIS/S-JIS/EUC
    Code, the file of Japanese Kanji will be displayed on
    screen.  You may wish to select [JIS+Shift-JIS], then the
    text file in JIS Code and/or in Shift-JIS Code will be
    individually or simultaneously displayed with Japanese
    Kanji on the same screen. Most Newgroups and overseas
    E-mail are using 7-bit JIS Code while Windows supporting
    only 8-bit Shift-JIS Code.  You may also select [JIS+EUC]
    to read or print most Web Pages and Newsgroups individually
    or simultaneously.

2.7 If you have Japanese version J-Windows 95/3.1, and select
    [HZ] Code, you may read and print Japanese and Chinese at
    the same time.  Or if you have Chinese versions of C-Windows
    or P-Windows 95/3.1, and select [JIS] Code, then you may
    read or print Chinese and Japanese at the same time.

2.8 Provided with JetFONT's 3 scalable outline fonts of 
    Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese Kanji,
    you can print out the text as WYSIWYG, in smoothy printed-
    like Chinese/Japanese, particularly with high resolution
    inkjet or laser printers in 300/360/400/600/720/1200 dpi;
    unlike bitmap fonts which will print in zig-zag characters.

2.9 The code used in the file is remain unchanged, MultiWord
    only dynamically convert the code to display Chinese or
    Japanese on screen and/or to print out on the sheet. If
    you wish to convert the code of the text file, use the
    "MultiCode" and read the next section.




3.0 [MultiCode FILE CONVERTING OF KANJI CODES]
    The text file of Chinese/Japanese in BIG5/HZ/GB/JIS/
    S-JIS/EUC Codes can be converted with each other and
    saved as new code-converted file.

3.1 Select and click on the MultiCode Icon in the KanjiWEB
    group wiindow, the MultiCode is opened. On the left side,
    you may key in the code of the original file and its path
    and file name; and on the right side you will key in the
    code to be converted and new file name and directory to
    be saved.  Click on "CONVERT" command, the file code is
    converted and saved.

3.2 Use MultiCode to convert text file into 7-bit HZ or JIS
    Code, which in Usenet Newsgroups and Overseas E-mail is
    mostly required.

3.3 You may key in GB code Simplified Chinese as used to,
    and convert the text file into BIG5 code Traditional
    Chinese or even JIS/S-JIS/EUC code Japanese Kanji to post
    a Newsgroup messange or to send a e-mail or to transfer a
    file. And you may do the reverse. 

3.4 For those who do not used to other input methods,
    Multicode is convenient to convert the text file into
    other language code, such as from Simplified Chinese to
    Traditional Chinese, or from any Chinese code into any
    Japanese code. For example, if you can read Japanese Kanji
    but not familiar with Japanese Input Method, you may key
    in a Japanese text with any Chinese Input Method and
    convert it into Japanese JIS, S-JIS or EUC code.



4.0 [MultiPad KANJI EDITOR]

4.1 Select and click the MultiPad Icon in the KanjiWEB group
    windows, and MultiPad Kanji Editor is ready to use the
    similar functions as Windows' Pad.

4.2 You may key-in, insert, delete, cut, paste, print,
    preview, and save Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese,
    and Japanese Kanji on any MS Windows-95 or Windows 3.1
    evironment, and display 2-bytes Kanji text in multiple
    windows.


5.0 [IME - CHINESE/JAPANESE INPUT METHOD ENGINES]
    
5.1 KanjiWEB provides various Input Method Engines to key-in
    Traditional Chinese, Simplified and Japanese Kanji.

    (A) Traditional Chinese: Zhu-yin Method, Hanyu Pingyin 
        Method, Code Input Method, and Cantonese Input Method.

    (B) Simplified Chinese: Ping-yin Method and Code Input
        Method.

    (C) Japanese Kanji: Roma Input and Code Input Methods.
        Also provides Zhu-yin, Hanyu-Pingyin, Cantonese 
        Input Methods to input Japanese Kanji by Chinese 
        pronunciation, which are very convenient ways for
        Chinese speaking people to input Japanese Kanji.

5.2 To activate IME on, select the Code of Kanji and click 
    input mode [A] and dialog box of the 10 input methods 
    will be displayed for using, for example in BIG5 Code:

    1. System Input: you may use all Input Methods provided
       by your system.  Also, use this System Input to key-in
       English letters and numbers.  A Hot-Key of [Alt+Shift]
       may be quickly switched to and from other Kanji Input
       Methods.
	
    2. Chu-Yin Input: In addition to input from your Keyboard,
       you may also select [Chu-Yin] and click on [K] from 
       dialog box, and a SCREEN-KEYBOARD will be displaying all
       Chu-Yin symbols for easier key-in. Click on [Space Bar],
       several Chinese characters will be displayed for 
       choosing a correct one.  Click on [Space Bar] again,
       more Chinese characters will be displayed.

    3. Code Input: by inputing Kanji Code Numbers.

    4. Cantonese Input: for those Cantonese Speaking people 
       may wish to key in by Cantonese pronunciation for Kanji
       characters and the 786 Specialized Cantonese Characters.

    5. Ping-Yin Input: using Roman spelling to input Chinese
       characters. Click on space bar for displaying and 
       selecting a corrected Chinese characters. Click on 
       space bar again for choosing from more characters. 

    6. Symbols Input: by selecting it from [A] ICON and click
       on [K] (=keyboard), a SCREEN KEYBOARD of Symobols will
       be displayed for easier input.

    7. 2-Bytes Letters and Numbers Input: Select [A] and click
       on [K] to display a 2-Bytes Letters/Numbers Screen
       Keyboard inputing.

    8. Hirakana Input: Select [A] and click on [K] to show a 
       Screen Keyboard of Hirakana for inputing.

    9. Katakana Input: Select [A] and click on [K], a Screen 
       Keyboard will be displayed for inputing Japanese Katakana.

   10. Special Japanese Kanji Input: a Screen Keyboard for 
       those special Japanese Kanji will be displayed by 
       selecting from [A] and click on [K].

5.3 Click on [K] a SCREEN KEYBOARD is displayed, an click 
    again on [CAP], another Screen Keyboard for more characters
    will be displayed. Click this [CAP] again will return to
    the original one.  To quit SCREEN KEYBOARD, just click on
    [K] again.

5.4 KanjiWEB supports all other vendors' independent Kanji
    Input Methods and Kanji PenPad Input Methods (optional).
