Introduction
Welcome to RealiTools! RealiTools
is a set of LightWave plug-ins to make your life as an animator easier.
It makes possible some very impressive effects, but also helps out with
some of the "little" things that can drive you crazy. Here, you'll
find answers to your questions about using the various RealiTools plug-ins.
Installation
To install, copy the file RealiTools.p into
your \plugins\Layout\ directory. Open Layout, and then open
the "Options" panel. Switch to the "General Options" tab, and click
"Add Plug-ins". Locate RealiTools.p and double-click it.
Next, open Modeler. Under the "Objects" menu, click on "Custom",
and choose "Add Plugin". Locate RealiTools.p and double click
it. You're ready to go!
Tutorials
Many of the sections in this documentation contain
tutorials. They are located in the subdirectory helpfiles/tutorial/.
To use the tutorial scenes and objects, set the Layout content directory
to the subdirectory for the tutorial you want, and everything should load
fine.
Acknowledgements
I'd like to thank some people for their help in
making RealiTools possible. First and foremost, I'd like to thank
Dynamic Realities for taking care of all the marketing and production stuff
I could never do on my own. Also, thanks to the beta testers for
making sure the package was as high-quality as possible. Thanks to
the various LightWave users out there who sent me email and encouraged
me to keep going with RealiTools, and told me that I really wasn't just
wasting my time. Thanks to BlueSky for allowing me to include the
Comic Shader. And finally, thanks to the POV-RAY team. Though
they've probably never even heard of me, the public availability of their
source code helped greatly to iron out a few things in Lighter. |
