view in the Modeler Interface, we want to determine the
angle of rotation from the top view. Looking at the field
below the Top bufton we see a value. This is the angle
between the two points in the top view. At this point, you
could write down this value, close the requester, select the
entire ruler and rotate it the desired number of degrees
minus that value from the top view...

10.write down the value in the Top fleld (the second field)
   of the Angles/Rotate menu
this is the number of degrees we'll need to rotate our
     object

11.click Cancel
we don't want to rotate the object yet

12.hit the "]' key on your keyboard
we need to select the entire ruler

13.activate Distance 8 Angles
the Distance a Angles requester will appear

Notice how the Distance 8 Angles requester now looks
ditferent? This is because, based on your selection, you are
not able to perform any measuring or scaling. Since you
can't measure the distance between more than 2 points,
Distance 8 Angles doesn't post these options. Ttlis is one of
the benefits of Auto Sensing.

When you have something selected, Distance 8 Angles
always defaults to Selected. So, our reference axis will be
determined from the ruler. But since we used the Affect All
button to affect everything in the layer last time, it's still
selected. Since the only thing we are interested in rotating is
the ruler on the table. we'll need to select the Atfect Selected
button...

14.Select the AFFEcr SELECTED bufton
we only want to rotate the ruler that we've selected

We want to rotate the ruler about its center so we can leave
the X and Z Reference Axis buttons on Center (the Y button
will have no affect in this example). And since we're rotating
this object in the top view, we'll select the Top bufton...

15. select the Rotate-Top button
we want to rotate the ruler in the top view

By now it should be clear that the three fields correspond to
rotation in the face, top, and left views respectively. What
may not be clear is that by selecting one of the rotation
