
Now you are ready to use Align a Center. Let's line up the 
left (negative) side of the mode[ with the origin... 
 
4.activate Align 8 Center (F2) 
  the Align 8 Center requester will appear 

5.select X- - (negative sign), Y-OFF, and Z-OFF from the 
  Align & Center requester and click OK or hit Return 
    the left side of the model lined up with the origin 

Since we turned them off, there was no movement on the Z 
and Y axes. We have confined the movement to only the X 
axis. Notice that the alignment carried out in relation to the 
origin. You can also aligo data in the foreground to data in 
the background... 
 
5.make layer 2 the background layer 
  an object will appear in the background 

6.activate Align 8 Center (F2) 
  a new Align 8 Center requester will appear, This requester 
  contains parameters which allow you to align objects in 
  the background and foreground. 

7.select FORE>BACK and make sure SIZE ALL is oft 
  we want to align an objed in the foreground with an 
  object in the background but not size it 

8.the requester has retained the rest of our previous 
  settings. click OK or hit Return 
   the left side of the foreground object will line up with the 
    left side of the background object 

Now let's try something a little more exotic. Let's line up the 
left (negative) side of our foreground data with the right 
(positive) side of our background data. Can you guess which 
parameter we'll use for this operation?... 
 
9.activate Aiign 8 Center (F2) 
  the Align 8 Center requester will appear 

10.select X- -+ (negative and positive sign), Y-OFF, and 
    Z-OFF and click OK or hit Return 
     the left (negative) side of the object in the foreground will 
     align with the right (positive) side of the background 
     object 

Now let's try something a little more unusual by lining up 
data in the background to selected data in the foreground... 

11.in Polygon selection mode select the sphere that is in 
   the foreground layer 

12.activate Align 8 Center (F2) 
    the Align 8 Center requester will appear 

