natural reaction as we directly think of rotation as spinning
about the center of objects such as wheels.

To recreate this effect in Modeler, the explicit modelers
would determlne the boundaries of an object, calculate its
center, then rotate the object with Modeler's numeric Rotate
tool. But. again. calculation is unnatural. In real life we
don't calculate the center of our bodies In order to turn
around and, because of this, we will never actually rotate
about the true center of our body.

Likewise, an impllclt modeler would probably never rotate an
object about its true center using the interactive rotation
tool. Distance 8 Angles found in MacroForm's
ProductlvltyToolz allows us to use our natural way of
thinking about rotation while using pinpoint accuracy,

Exercise #3: Rotate Demo

1.activate the Tutorialz (F1) or (F11 ) tool
  the Tutorialz requester will appear

2.Select Rotate DemO and click OK or hit Return
the tutorialz requester will disappear and an object wlll be
   loaded into Modeler

This object is resting at a 45 degree angle in the face view.
What if we wanted to rotate this obJect about its center 45
degrees to get it straight? Distance ~r Angles will allow you
to rotate an object arbitrarily about its center:

3. activate Distance a Angfes (F4)
the Distance a Angles requester will appear

Since Distance a Angle defaults to rotation about the center
of an obJect. you won't have to change any of the Reference
Axis settings. The thing we must do is enter our desired
degree of rotation. You'll notice that there are 3 fields at the
bottom of the requester. It is here that you will enter your
degree of rotation. In other modes these Welds have a
special purpose, but typically only one field is active at a
tlme. Each corresponds to a rotation in a particular view.
You select whlch view will be atfected by selecting the
buttons just above the rotation fields. In this case we want
to perform a rotation in the face vlew so we need to select
the FACE button:

4. select the Rotate-FACE bufton
to rotate the object in the face view
