Welcome To MacroForm

Before You Begin

You should have general knowledge about the system you're using. You
should know how to copy files from floppy disks to directories on your hard-
drive. You should also have a basic knowledge of LightWave 3D Modeler.

Familiarity with the LightWave3D Modeler

You don't have to be an expert, but you do need to know:

the basic layout of Modeler's interface - where the buttons are
how to load and save files
 how to add plug-ins
how to change function key assignments
how to use the mouse to "click" on buttons on the interface
how to select points, polygons, and curves
how to create points, polygons, and curves
 how to drag polnts
how to move. scale. rotate, copy and delete polygons and curves

If you don't know one or more of these things. don't proceed any further with
this MacroForm manual. Review the relevant subjects in your LightWave3D
manual. Many of the lessons in this book assume you know this information.

I nstallation

READ THE READ_ME FILE ON DISK I TO INSTALL MACROFORM. If anything
should go wrong during the installation, note that MacroForm requires that it's
files and directories be in particular locations:

1. RaiITlz.p, ProdTlz.p, and Toriaiz.p should be located in the
"NewTek/Pluglns/Modeler"directory,

For the Amiga

2. The MForm directory should be located in the "Toaster:" assignment,
This will probably be the "Toaster" or NewTek directory on your system.

For the Intel or Alpha:

2. The MForm directory should be located in the "NewTek/Programs'
directory.

If you make sure the files are in the proper locations, the software will function
properly. You should consult your LightWave 3D manual on the proper
method to load plug-ins into Modeler.
ghtwave will now prompt you to
rename your null object. Name your null the following:
SurfEff CyanBlob R=0 B=255 G=255 L=i .O Min=1 .O Max=5.0
What this specifies is a null with red set to O, blue to 255, green to 255, Iuminosity to I OOolo
(percentages are expressed as a decimal, so 100010 = 1.0, 50010 = O.S, 5010 = 0.0S, etc.) and
min and max effect radii set to I .O and 5.0 meters, respectively.
