MIDI Control Panel STD, Version 1.1 (Win95 only!)

This program is designed to send messages to MIDI
synthesizers, either external or on soundcards, or other
MIDI controllable devices such as effects boxes or
lightshow controllers in real-time under full user
control via mouse, keyboard, and joystick port devices.

Features:

Easy-to-use and understand panel oriented interface and
extensive on-line help

Automated controller sweeps--multiple, simultaneous
sweeps are possible

Extensive MIDI program change message support--maintain
lists of program no.s with names for multiple channels
and/or MIDI Out ports. Select and send programs from a
list via mouse, keyboard, or remotely from controls on
other panel types including push-buttons, joystick fire-
buttons and even fader controls.

Automated MIDI routing--switch any MIDI In to any MIDI
Out

Joystick port support with optional reverse and center-
defeat functions. Fire-buttons can simulate toggle-
buttons, if desired

Panel remote control--controls from one panel can be
used to activate MIDI message sending functions on other
panels

Extensive customization possible--the user can re-name
and, in most cases, re-define any MIDI controller type.
Panels can be grouped by function and hidden or
displayed (or closed) as a group. Entire sessions can
be saved and loaded. Individual panels can be saved and
loaded. Each panel's (including the Main Panel)
background color can be changed, or any standard bitmap
file can be applied. The user can supply the icons used
for grouping panels (or the buttons on Buttons
controls), either as a (small) bitmap file, an icon file
or a cursor file. You can even re-write (or translate)
the entire help system yourself!

What the MIDI Control Panel is:

A collection of Button, Fader, and Joystick Panels that
allow you to quickly and easily set up and send multiple
MIDI controller messages. For each button or fader the
user can define what MIDI controller type is to be
issued, what the data value should be and what channel
and MIDI port the message will use.

What the MIDI Control Panel is not:

A Sequencer. No MIDI in data is read and or saved by the
program, so it cannot translate incoming MIDI control
messages into different control messages on output. It
does provide for automated switching of any MIDI in port
to any MIDI out port, and can play MIDI files using the
MicroSoft MediaPlayer.

A Synth Patch Editor. It does not download voices or
banks from a synth, edit the voice parameters and
upload them back to the synth. It does allow you to
create and manipulate patchlists, which are simple lists
of program change numbers with voice names and provides
flexible and extensive means for sending the program
change numbers in a list to your synth(s).

New in version 1.1:

Record MIDI Events -- records all MIDI messges generated
by the program to a standard MIDI file for use with MIDI
sequencers.

MIDI realtime Start/Stop messages -- useful to auto
start/stop (some) MIDI sequencers.

No-Op message for Buttons Panels -- useful when remotely
pushing buttons panels buttons.

Improved MIDI thru switching -- allows multiple Patch-Group
panels with the same MIDI In.
