1. New WinGuard options
------------------------

For version 7.76, the following new WinGuard options have been added:

* Program heuristics - Enable this option for the scan to include searching
for possible new (undiscovered) program (file) virus code.

* Word macro heuristics - Enable this option for the scan to include
searching for possible new (undiscovered) Microsoft Word macro virus
  code.

* Prompt before disinfecting - Enable this option for WinGuard to prompt
before automatically removing the detected virus. This option is greyed
  out if 'Auto-Disinfect' is disabled.

2. New WinGuard Connection Monitor options
-------------------------------------------

For Version 7.76, WinGuard has two additional configuration options for use
in conjunction with a NetWare Toolkit running on a server. These are 'Enable
Connection Monitor' and 'Winsock file name'; see the help file for details.

3. /SILENT switch discontinued
-------------------------------

The FindVirus switch /SILENT has been discontinued. If you specify this
switch (or its shortened /S form), you will see a 'did not understand....'
message.

4. WinGuard File Name Changes
------------------------------

WINGUARD.386 has been renamed to WINGRD95.386 and WGFE.EXE has been renamed
to WGFE95.EXE. This is to enable both Windows 3.x and Windows 95 versions of
WinGuard to be resident on the same machine, without program name clashes, so
allowing Windows 3.x and Windows 95 dual boot machines to seamlessly use
WinGuard.

If you are not using the standard Dr Solomon's installer to
install/distribute the Toolkit files, you will need to update your scripts
and registries. To update the registry, a new WTKUTIL function has been
created; the command line is:

WTKUTIL WG95RENAME

The functionality of WTKUTIL ADD WINGUARD and WTKUTIL REMOVE WINGUARD has
been updated for the new file names.

5. ViVerify '/nocancel' switch
-------------------------------

Specifying the new '/nocancel' switch to the ViVerify command suppresses the
cancel button in the subsequent dialogs.

6. Comments in Extra Drivers
-----------------------------

You can now add your own comment text to extra driver files (equivalent of
'REM' lines in batch files). Open the extra driver file in a text editor,
such as 'Notepad', to add and view your text. Start each line of comment text
with a ';' (semi-colon).

7. Macro Heuristics
--------------------

FindVirus's 'Use heuristic analysis' option, which allows the detection of
previously undiscovered virus code, now extends to finding possible new macro
virus code.

8. WinGuard 'Scan on writes' Doesn't Delete Files
--------------------------------------------------

The manual states that when the WinGuard 'Scan on writes' option is enabled,
infected files are deleted. This is an error, infected files are not deleted.
Although any infected files are not deleted, you will not be able to access
them without WinGuard alerting.

9. WTKUTIL WINGUARDCHECK
-------------------------

The error levels returned by WTKUTIL WINGUARDCHECK are stated wrongly in the
Toolkit manual.

The error levels returned are:

0 if WinGuard is loaded
1 if WinGuard is not loaded.

10. Specifying WinGuard Extra Drivers - Use Full Path
-----------------------------------------------------

Please note that when specifying an extra driver for WinGuard, using the
'Configure Protection' dialog of the WinGuard configuration program, the full
path of the extra driver file must be specified.

11. Magic Bullet and Extra Drivers
----------------------------------

If there is an extra driver file called EXTRA.DRV in the Toolkit's directory,
this will be used automatically by FindVirus. This includes FindVirus as run
from the Magic Bullet diskette.

12. CleanPart Disk Damage Warning
---------------------------------

You should only use CleanPart to remove viruses from boot or partition
sectors if you have first tried using FindVirus, and this has failed.

If it is used incorrectly, CleanPart may damage your disk data. For this
reason it must only be used under supervision by Dr Solomon's Technical
Support staff. See the printed manual or on-line help for the number to call.

13. Scheduler Default Messages Removed
--------------------------------------

In the 'Dr Solomon's Scheduler Defaults' dialog of the Schedule Editor (that
you open by selecting 'Defaults' from the 'Options' menu) the 'Message List
Box' items have been deleted from the 'List Boxes' tab. This is because
scheduled messages are not supported in the Windows 95 Toolkit.
