1. Installation Instructions

- From CD:
  Run SETUP.EXE.

- From Diskette:
for Windows 95/Windows NT 4.0, run SETUP32.EXE from Disk 1.

for Windows 3.x, run SETUP16.EXE from Disk 2.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. Usage Notes
--------------

- We recommend that you not use MagicMover to move development software
packages, such as Borland C++ and Microsoft Visual C++. They contain
path information within projects, which point to various files
(i.e. - include files) and miscellaneous directories or folders.
MagicMover may not be able to update that path information during a
move operation.

- If you select multiple applications for a move operation, you will see
the following message in the "Current Folder" field on Step 2 of the operation:
"Multiple application source folders selected." This is not an error and
does not prevent you from continuing with the move operation. It simply means
there is more than one source folder for the applications selected. For
example, if you select the Myapps Start Menu group and within that group
are links pointing to two different applications (C:\App1\App1.exe and
C:\App2\App2.exe), there are two different source folders: C:\App1
and C:\App2.

- MagicMover will not move any application installed into or under the
Windows or DOS directories. Moving programs from the Windows or DOS directories
could destabilize your system.

- Because Microsoft's Office 97 no longer installs each applet's
executable into a separate directory, if you select one applet
(i.e. Excel) to move to a new location, all of the Office 97 applets
(i.e. Word, PowerPoint, etc.) will be moved to the new location.

- If you create another partition within an extended partition, after
installing MagicMover, you will need to launch the MagicMover options
dialog and select the drive under the Drives to Scan in order for MagicMover
to scan the newly created drive (partition).

- If you move a 32-bit program you may not be able to remove that program
using its Add/Remove options. The uninstall "scripts" may be written in a
binary, not text, format. At this time MagicMover is unable to open those
"scripts" and update that information.
