F-PROT for NetWare Solution Checklist
As you well know, state-of-the-art networks are extremely complex systems.
Proper diagnostic procedures require an in-depth study of all of the
available data. Whenever someone reports an apparent F-Prot for NetWare
problem or an abend, we need the following information in order to
provide you with the fastest possible solution.

When you installed F-PROT for NetWare a program called TTCONFIG.NLM was
also installed. TTCONFIG will collect the information we need to determine
the cause of the problem and to provide a solution. From the server console
type: LOAD TTCONFIG The following information will be collected and sent
to a file which can then be zipped and e-mailed.
o F-PROT.INI
o F-PROT.CFG
o F-PROT.LOG (The last 30 minutes or 10 entries)
o SYS$LOG.ERR (The last 30 minutes or 10 entries)
o STARTUP.NCF
o AUTOEXEC.NCF
o A complete module list, including the version number of each module.

Additionally, please record a list of any F-PROT commands you recall entering
recently or right before the problem occurred.

In the unlikely event of a server abend, please record all information
beginning on page 2.

NetWare v3/v4 ABEND Debugger Information
Upon incurring a server ABEND (ABnormal END), it is usually possible to
enter the internal debugger by either entering 386debug at the System
console or by pressing and holding the Left Alt, both shift, and the Escape
keys. Should the server fail to enter the internal debugger, try pressing the
Caps Lock key. If the Caps Lock light fails to toggle (on/off) , it generally
indicates a hard conflict which has the server completely inoperable. In this
case the only option is to power down the server.

Please return the file generated by TTCONFIG with (if necessary) the following pages, either
by e-mail (preferably) or fax (in which case you will need to print the TTCONFIG information).
