                 (`..`..-> Introduction <-..`..)

Okay, first, I'm sure everybody reading this wants to know exactly
what the patch is for, and why they spent their precious time
downloading it. We all know that Hexen2 beta is out, but one of the biggest
bummers is none of the levels have spawning points etc, so we cannot play
them on the internet. I'm sure you all remember about a week ago when our
good friend GEN0CIDE fixed up a level, Monsters.bsp, and we all got our first
look at what Hexen2 Internet play is like. There were, however a few complaints.
The biggest and most obvious complaint was "This level is tiny!!! This isn't
big enough for 5 Warriors to run around killing each other!" Well, I agree.
Great job by GEN0, but, the level was too damn small.
Another well deserved complaint was that the Level had monsters in it, which
is never a good thing. If we wanted monsters, we wouldn't be on the internet, would
we? I think not... Monsters.bsp was a good job, but the level was just shitty
	  for net play.

We now have a new level to play on the net.
The name of the level, as you should know, is town_dm.bsp
What we have done is add spawning points to the level, and made it playable
          over the net.
Let me say, this level is fucking incredible for net play.

(`..`..-> How to install this patch <-..`..)

Installing this patch couldn't really be easier, but for those of
you who are "Special" and still can't figure it out, feel free to join
#hex2 on efnet, and ask somebody.

          #1 - Unzip town_dm.bsp to your c:\hexen2\data1\maps directory.

          #2 - Unzip h2town.bat and glh2town.bat to your c:\hexen2 directory

               Note -
h2town.bat is for those of you running regular Hexen2.

glh2town.bat is for those of you who run gl hexen2 and are
fortunate and smart enough to own a 3dfx based card, such
as the Diamond Monster. People, if you don't have a fucking
3dfx card, you're missing out on the best thing to come to
the PC in years... GET ONE

#3 - Get on Efnet and join #hex2, and say " Hey guys, thanks for all your
hard damned work on bringing us all Hexen2 Beta and these cool patches!"

#4 - Who the hell put that there? Damnit it won't erase... FUCK

             (`..`..-> Playing town_dm on the Net <-..`..)

Okay, so, you're really smart, and you were able to extract 3 files,
and now you're ready to play this bad-ass level on the net. Here's what
you're going to need to do -

For those of you who play Quake this may all be oldschool, but bear with
me. Trust me, I get asked this stuff all the damned time about Monsters.bsp

#1 Let's say you're going to be playing with just one guy. Talk to him
and find out which one of you two have the fastest computer and fastest
connection. If you both have a 28800 modem, don't even try this. You'll be
lagged to HELL. You're going to at least need a host with ISDN or higher.
               Obviously t1+ is great.
Anyways, find out which person is fastest, and have that person be the HOST.

#2 Hey, wow, you have a host now. Probably some gimp in college who doesn't pay
shit for his t1 that is 50 times faster then my ISDN that I work my ass off for..
Anyways, you've got your host. Now this guy needs to run his bat file
which was included in the Zip. When the host runs the bat file hexen2 will
start up, and town_dm will auto-load.

#3 The client, or person with no fucking job who can't afford ISDN or Cable,
then waits about 60 seconds or so for the Host's computer to start the level.
Once he's sure the level must be started, he starts Hexen2 with the bat file
for him.. the level will start up, and you're just going to have to quit
and join the game, but if you start the game normally it will crash on you.
In the game goto Multiplayer, Join a game, tcp/ip, then put in the Host's
IP address. If you're on IRC, just type /dns Nick and that will show you
               his ip.

#4 Put in the ip address, and join the game. We believe you'll have a shitload
of fun with this. I know I did testing it.

                    (`..`..-> And finally...  <-..`..)

A few things you should know...

If you plan on playing this with more than one person, simply edit
the bat file and change -listen 2 to -listen whatever.

NO PEOPLE I DIDN'T MEAN THAT LITERALLY. GOOD GOD. You wouldn't believe
how many people have -listen whatever in their batch files now.
                /me sighs

Let me just say that the Crew in #hex2 on efnet rocks.
Special thanks go out to the following -

All the guys of TGE.. these guys rock, and had faith in the channel
from the start. I wouldn't be where I am without the TGE crew..

CowBud - The brilliant Webmaster of the #hex2 webpage, which can be
                found at http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/2952/hexen2.html

BlueAcid Of Pacific - This guy had faith in me, and I hope he's happy he did.

And of course all #hex2 ops, who remain patient even with the complete
morokjsdf, uhm, nevermind. The "special" people who come into the
                channel and need "Special" help

And to, lol, TiMcVeigh. People, if you just fucking hate irc,
but want a good reason to come, join #hex2 and hopefully this guy
will come on while you're there.
TiMcVeigh has got to be the funniest person I have ever met in my life..
He's a racist hateful piece of shit who I wouldn't mind killing, but,
it's honestly hilarious to watch how much of a moron he is.
We always unban him for a little while, just so we can laugh at him..
                Here's a few quotes -

<TiMcVeigh> you god damn jew chink
<TiMcVeigh> distroz is a fucking nigger cum swallower
<TiMcVeigh> you're a god damn spic kike jew wop wahoo nigger
<TiMcVeigh> you fucking half breed chink nigger
<TiMcVeigh> I wish i could meet him face to face ( me )
<TiMcVeigh> so i could smash his skull in with a brick

I swear to god, I sometimes laugh until I cry when he comes in the channel.
Obviously he's not very bright, and could very possibly be the result
of brother sister love. /msg him on efnet, it's fun. Trust me.
