Document Configuration
How do I choose what types of files to index?

1. If it isn't already open, double-click on the Data Detective Indexer icon on the desktop.

Click the tab to display the document configuration options.

The Document Types list shows what types of documents will be indexed by the Indexer, and what their corresponding file extensions are.

3. Clicking on the boxes to the left of each installed document type will turn indexing on or off for that particular type.

The Mail Services list interface indicates what types of mail messages will be indexed by the Indexer.

4. Clicking on the checkboxes for each type of mail will turn indexing on or off for that particular type of mail.

You are also allowed to customize the installed document types, or add new file extensions.
