BUSINESS

Business is the study of the creation, production, distribution, and maintenance of a product or service. Business knowledge and skills are used in all types of organizations including non profit and government institutions.

Students interested in business should display a sense of detail and organization as well as demonstrate success in mathematics, science, social studies and leadership activities. In addition to a normal college preparatory program, helpful high school courses include psychology, English, history, mathematics, and economics or business.

Most business programs require supplementary general education (English, social sciences, natural sciences, humanities, etc.) courses. Typical business course clusters include marketing, management, finance, operations, accounting, and human resource coordination.

Job placement requirements vary depending on the area of specialization. Most jobs require a college degree and internship/work experience.
